![]() Hi Gordon,
That was a great response.... :) I think that I'm probably more interested in "independence" too when I think about it.... I'm interested in both independence and wealth, but I think independence comes before wealth on the scale for me.... You mentioned multiple streams of income, I remember your great post you wrote about that from the days of the forum you did with Dave Bancroft.... And I really think it's a good thing to get going. I think it means that if one source of income dries up, it means you have others.... All these streams of income really can be little "businesses" in themselves.... However, it's possible that doing one of them wouldn't be enough to live on *by itself*, but doing multiples of them could be.... So, one day you could be an off-key singing telegram. The next day (if nobody's ordered an off-key singing telegram), you could be selling sunglasses at the beach or on the ski slopes. And another day (if it's too cloudy for sunglasses), you could be creating your own original greeting cards for sale.... :) I quite like this idea (though it means you have to print up multiple business cards).... However, I think I'd get a kick out of the diversity.... I guess the key is you can make a good income from having multiple part-time businesses, you don't have to just have one full-time business.... I read your post on that, Gordon, a couple years ago (or whenever it was), but things are now just falling into place in my mind.... I think it would be fun, too! Less boring. It's an interesting concept. :) - Dien |
