![]() Hi Gordon:
I didn't leave your letter in... you already know what it said. : ) I found your comments on the "tire kickers" to be very interesting. Let me tell you why, okay? I get a lot of email. Current count - about 250 pieces a day. Probably about 75% spam... but I still have to scan it and make sure a newbie didn't just use a subject line that sounds like spam. That STILL leaves a lot of email. I get letters from a lot of those people that a lot of other people view as tire kickers. I get to hear their side of the story. About how many programs they have bought and haven't found ONE that they could work with. Many of these "tire kickers" are people that hold down full time jobs. Pay their bills. Feed their families. That tells me they are not afraid to work. They are NOT people sitting around because they are too lazy to work. Many of them have had sad things happen in their life. There is the guy whose wife got cancer and they didn't have medical insurance. There is the gal whose husband left her with three preschool kids to run off with his Internet girlfriend. There is the elderly lady whose husband nursed her through three years of cancer - and just when she went into remission, he died of a heart attack. Need I go on?? These people have read all the hype about how they, too, can make money online. So they spend the money for a program. But it teaches them nothing. So they wait a while. Sign up for some affiliate programs. Those don't work, either. They get frustrated. Disillusioned. Yup - looks like they are kicking tires. And maybe a few of them are. But I don't believe it's the majority. I don't believe the majority of people will pay money to achieve a dream and then just walk away because they didn't feel like doing anything to make it happen. Maybe I just hang tight to my faith in people as a whole. I do believe that people need the same type of training and guidance that would be provided in any regular "on the job training". I do believe that with proper direction, they are not afraid to work for their dreams any more than you or I are. So,I write back to these people and tell them that if I knew of a program that could help them, I'd recommend it. But, I don't. Not one that takes a person from knowing nothing to knowing how to build a business online. Fact is, most of the marketing programs out there are mostly garbage. They will have their tidbits of good suggestions, but it's mostly garbage. I know of three programs in particular that contain advice that I would only recommend if I wanted to put someone out of business really fast. So here is what I am doing to prepare for the arrival of the rose. I am not looking to "be" the rose... just to plant and nurture them. You see, I am writing that program that I haven't been able to find. It's easy steps to follow to learn what works based on the individual and what their interests are. And I will be there to provide personal coaching along the way. It's the stuff I learned along the way, that I use for my clients, and the techniques I teach to my consulting clients. My own little "secrets," so to speak. I hope to be able to help the Tony's and Markie's and Margie's that come to me. Each one of them will be the rose that blooms. And in doing so, I can sit back and look at the beautiful garden I planted. Not too bad for a cold winter's work. All my best.. Linda Website design... with a difference. (my sites work) ![]() |
