Alibaba experience anyone?

add a dot and then a com and that's their site (can't post links yet). Has anyone done biz with them? I'm trying to be cautious and can't really afford to get ripped off.

I do have a product in mind but it is one that has to be slightly altered and therefor a "custom" order, meaning I would have to order at least 100 of them. That's a big chunk of change to risk.

And no, without the alteration, there are already enough competition and I do not want that.

Any advise on how to proceed?
