Default Those summer days, when time stretched out into forever....

Hi Gordon!

What a great post.... :)

When I was reading about the hammock, it reminded me of those childhood years gone by....

I remember the summers.... How time stretched for eternity. How could you even imagine 10 years in the future when you were not even yet 10 years old?

Hours seemed like days, days seemed like a months, and the months of summer seemed to stretch endlessly into years....

None of the "rushing around" we're expected to do as adults. How did this happen? I never wanted to live my life trying to constantly beat the clock....

But slowing down, savoring each precious moment, and appreciating what life has to offer, that's what life is about.... Family and friends and knowing good people are, for me, the true essence of life itself....

As for this forum, thank you for the comments we've gotten here from many people.... We're not like other forums, because perhaps here the "hype" gets left behind and instead, we replace it with a dose of authenticity.... That's pretty rare on the net and in marketing forums everywhere....

Thanks Gordon, I appreciate very much your words of sanity in the midst of this hectic chaos we call "modern living" !

Default Re: About slowing down...

Dien --

I've taken to actively "slowing down" my life. Sometimes little things can add up. Here's one example. I work downtown in a city. At the crosswalks I will wait until the sign changes to "walk" before crossing. Sounds simple. But notice the internal feelings you have when you first try this.

Later start to observe the others around you. Some will follow your lead. You can play with this by how you are dressed and compare it to some of the things in Cialdini's book as well. I am being a bit vague here.

As you start enjoying your newly slowed down life you can start to notice things around you. What shops are there, architectural structures, etc.

Have a slow day!
