Default Wisdom in the song lyrics from a 70s comedy movie... :)

This forum seems to have a lot of lurkers.... From the stats, traffic has gone UP....

Using Alexa ( www.alexa.com ), Sowpub's ranking has recently gone UP too, we're becoming more popular and climbing the ranks.... That means that people like what they see here....

As Cat Stevens sings....

Don't be shy,
just let your feelings roll on by....
Don't wear fear,
or nobody will know you're there...

Lift your head
and your feelings out instead,
Don't be shy ,
just let your feelings roll on by....

(These are the lyrics to a song from the film "Harold and Maude" -- a 70s offbeat comedy movie).... :)

This is a safe place to post. Now here you won't be trampled like you are on some other forums (I'll make sure of it).... We believe in mutual respect, and any insults will get deleted....

- Dien

P.S. I'm about to start to implement an idea we talked about here a while ago.... NO ONE has yet implemented this idea in the way we talked about, but I'm going to do it, and Sowpubbers will be the beneficiaries.... I'll let you know more very soon....

Default Question...

Were you singing that as you were typing it?

Default The answer is YES....

> Were you singing that as you were typing it?

Heheh!

I WAS singing (to remember the lyrics!), and I was considering including an audio file of my illustrious voice,

BUT then I decided not to subject anyone to that kind of torture and to be merciful instead! ;)

Just my family endures it (I've grown deaf to their pleas).... :)

Dien - great movie and song. Another favorite Cat Stevens' song from that movie that applies to SOWPUB :

"If you want to be you, be you;
and if you want to be me, be me.
There's a million ways to be,
you know that there are!"

Singing along as well:-)

Hi Bob!

> Dien - great movie and song.

Yes, it's been quite a while since I've seen "Harold and Maude," but it certainly is quite a unique film!

Heheh, thanks Bob! :)

Hmmmm.... your singing voice sounds better than mine! ;)

I agree that's a great song. These two are definitely among my favorite Cat Stevens' songs.... They have very meaningful and true lyrics.... :)

Default And did you have to??????

Hey Dien! I am curious to know!

> I WAS singing (to remember the lyrics!),

***Did you have to go back to the beginning of the song to bring forth the lyrics you were looking for? Sometimes I have to do that, silly I know...and I would SO enjoy to hear your audio file! What a hoot that would be!

Joyfully,

JULIE

Hi Julie!

I'm so excited that you're back! I missed your wonderful posts and messages.... :)

I DO have to often go back to the start of the song to remember the lyrics.... And sometimes I still can't remember! :)

Julie, one day we'll have to get together and do some karaoke.... Should we record a duet? :)

A big WELCOME BACK! I missed you.... :)

Default Duets and More!

Greetings Dien and All!

***Thanks! Those last few weeks of pregnancy were challenging indeed. I am thankful to be getting back to normal!

****Sounds like a plan! I have a bunch of Duets in mind that I have never had the chance to sing before! Let me know when and where and I will be there with music in hand!

My funniest karaoke experience was in a karaoke bar close to Disneyland. My friend Carol and I were at a Christian Women's Conference in Anaheim and after the evening meeting we decided we wanted a beer. (This may sound ironic to you, admittedly). So we went to the bar at the hotel, which was called "The Manila Peninsula".

I had broken my arm the week before and was sporting a bright pink cast all the up above my elbow...(you must know I never do anything quietly). Believe it or not, back then I had to be coaxed to sing in front of an audience. When I heard someone else sing a song from the movie "Exodus" I said, "Ok, if he had the nerve to sing that song badly, I HAVE to sing!"

So I belted out "Your So Vain" (longtime Carly Simon fan) and ended up with quite a group of supportive folks in the audience.

Meanwhile, when Carol and I went back to our hotel room which we were sharing with two other women from our church, it took everything in us to not laugh really loud at our exploits! And everything took on a silly quality with that bright pink cast. My only regret now is that I did not take pictures....

> A big WELCOME BACK! I missed you.... :)

***Missed you, too!

With Purpose, Passion, and big goofy smiles,

JULIE
