![]() I've moved Phil Goutell's post up here from further down below in the forum.... Here it is....
Dien -- Thinking back, I've seen a lot of people make money SELLING "Good Luck" ... everything from little charms to magnetic jewelery to getting the right astrologer, how to buy the right lottery tickets, etc. But, in my experience, the people who were selling it understood that WORK was what made money. "Luck" was just something for which there was a large (very large!) market. -- Phil I agree with you fully, Phil! Making your own luck does take work.... You can't just lie back and wait, hoping for good luck to smile on you. It takes active participation.... I guess it's like that saying, "God helps those who help themselves." When you start helping yourself -- by working at things -- sometimes you can be surprised by how many lucky breaks can come your way. :) You may still get lucky breaks coming your way if you're lying back and doing nothing, but the thing is if you're not active and open to them, those lucky breaks may just sail right on by, and you'll be completely oblivious to it.... It also highlights another thing, which is, watch what people DO.... If they say one thing, but do another, then wonder why that is? The people selling "lucky charms" and so on are working for a living, selling it to you.... Like you say, Phil, there's a lesson in that.... :) Thanks Phil, those were enlightening thoughts.... :) - Dien |
