Debt in America

I'm considering marketing a debt elimination education program that takes you step by step through how to become debt free in only a few years. Now I know how big of a problem debt is in America and 99% of all the people I know have debt. But my question is this. Is debt an issue that most everyone has come to accept and are not concerned with or are most people concerned and looking for ways out of debt. This program offers initial training and then followup coaching, sort of a hand holding process. It's a good education program with good profit spread but is it a "want" or an undesirable "need"?
