![]() The first book I ever bought through the mail was Joe Karbo’s "The Lazy Man’s Way To Riches" Go here to get a copy if you don’t already have oneThe Lazy Way
Not only did it make me responsible for my life (up until then I’d blamed my failures on others) it helped me realise that I was in control of everything I thought about and the decisions I made. Plus as a bonus it also introduced me to the fascinating world of mail order. This was long before computers took much of the hard work out of creating a sales piece and running a database. Joe was a real inspiration to so many. I suggest that if you have a copy of his book, take some time and re-read it. I’ve been going through my library lately and out of all the books I have, it is still one of the best. Anyway, I went on to read Napeleon Hill and Tony Robbins ( only his close friends call him Tony ;0) but Joe’s book started me off down the road to mail order and personal success, so I thought I’d make mention of his teachings. As for Joe’s three Eve’s that he talks about in his book, they are Conceive, Believe & Achieve. Conceive exactly what you want, decide exactly what it is you want from life, then......Believe, you must believe that it is entirely possible and totally obtainable as long as you’re prepared to pay the price....and finally...Achieve, get out there and work towards your goal. Yes you actually have to go out there and do something, you have to pay the price, it’s not magic and there is no such thing as something for nothing. Of course sometimes the price is too high and the goal unrealistic, but if you are true to yourself and don’t focus on unobtainable things (like a million dollars falling in your lap, tomorrow night) and don’t sacrifice the important things, like family and health for money, then you should do okay. I’ve seen Gurus in all walks of life take the basic concept of success and dress it up and rename it, but the common problem with this is usually they complicate it, so it makes something simple that works, more difficult than it need be. It’s not hard and it’s very simple if you think about it, just like much in life that’s good. Richard. Gordon, I believe you had the honour of meeting Joe?? I’d like to hear your ‘Joe’ stories if you have any, please email me if you think that here is not an appropriate place to share them I know he is no longer with us, I don’t know the exact circumstance of his demise, I can only hope it was after a long and fulfilling life. |
