Default HERE'S How To Sell Knives AND Drill Bits!

Instead of working construction during summers in College...I sold things and made 10 times more money than an hourly wage.

One of the items I sold was a Set of Kitchen Knives.

In Chicago there was a giant wholesale house called "COOK Brothers". They had thousands of items you could buy at wholesale prices. Along with pots and pans (which I bought for $7 a set and sold to secretaries in offices for $25 to $27 a set)....I sold Sets of Kitchen Knives, which I bought for $7 and sold for $25 to $29.

I sold 40 to 100 sets a day... making an average of $20 NET per set....that's right...$800 a DAY to $2000 a DAY....selling Sets of Kitchen Knives!

Here's what I did;
I went to Cook Bros around 8am...bought 40 sets at $7/set ($280) These were GOOD quality knives in a Pretty display box wrapped in clear plastic.

I then headed out to my "territory" for that day.

Each day I'd choose a different section of the city. I'd visit TAVERNS & BARS. Walk right in with 6 to 8 sets under my arm...walk up to the first person sitting at the bar and say...(provided he was coherent)

"Excuse me sir! We are coming from a Housewares Show at McCormick Place. We have a few sets of these fine kitchen knives left and instead of paying to ship them back to LA...the boss said, "Sell 'Em!"
As I see I have his eye...I start unwrapping a box (so he can see they are NEW)....as I hand him the box I say, "These sell for $89 a Set normally. I can let YOU have a set for $29! Pretty good quality, don't ya think? With this I notice the guy sitting next to him looking at the box. I immediately hand a box to the guy and say, "Here...if both you guys take a box I'll let you have 'em for $27 a box!" This usually brought over another 1 or 2 curious...to whom I also handed a box and said, "If ALL of you take a box I'll let 'em go for $25 a set! Make GREAT GIFTS for the wife or girlfriend at home! Surprise the little woman with a nice PRESENT! What do ya say?....$25 a Set? They worth it? Just $25!"

One guy usually says something like, "Yeh! Looks like good stuff to me! I'll take a Set!"
THAT puts the momentum into action and I've got 5 or 6 boxes sold in a few minutes.

I go right down the block...hitting all the taverns and bars. I've sold as many as 40 sets in ONE place.

Sure...you have to watch your neighborhoods but for a HIGH-PAYING summer job...I never found anything better. At the start of each Fall Term, I was a Fat Cat.

I'm SURE you could do the same with Drill Bits!

Use the same "Story"!

A few years ago, I was sitting in a local pub having a cool one with a couple buddies and in walks this kid with a set of kitchen knives and ya coulda bowled me over with a feather. His "story" was a little different but basically the same. They "HAD" to get rid of them rather than pay to ship them.

All you need is "brass-balls" and a gift o gab (you can't have silence, you haveta keep talkingso they stay zeroed in on the Knives and the deal they're getting)

In fact...when I get off here...I'm going to do a search and see if Cook Bros is still in Chgo.

Give it some thought. Trying to sell Drill Bits with flyers to homeowners is NOT the way to go!

I use Flyers to sell my "Deck Renewal" service to homeowners. But my service costs $400 and up.... and I get 2 to 4 jobs a day.

Send me an email if you have some questions on selling Knives or Drill Bits to Taverns...or selling Deck Cleaning & Renewal service to homeowners.

Check out my Deck Renewal website.
