Did you know that Jonathan was adopted?

That's what I remember.

He got adopted by a certain religious sect whose leader had the initials LRH.

They printed & displayed posters galore featuring Jonathan, implying some connection between their group & the wise young seagull.

And then in a "man bites dog" sort of story, they were sued by Richard Bach for misappropriation. Major irony, as they were accustomed to being the su-er, not the su-ee.

I don't remember the rest, but I doubt that lawsuit turned out well for him (Bach. Or Jonathan, for that matter).
