![]() The Dakota Indians have a saying....
We will be known forever by the tracks we leave. This is one reason why I personally believe you cannot be a BIG success unless you do business ethically.... Those who do shady deals, those who cheat others, they may have some success.... for a time.... But their tracks will become known. They can't rely on previous customers.... They have to keep finding new people to swindle.... And that's why their success can't become very big, and that's why their world will (in my opinion) eventually crumble.... Whether it's through the law, or through some other way.... They'll end up dishonored and discredited.... By those around them -- their families, their friends, their mentors, will look down upon them.... And the worst thing is that these people will know that the derision is justified.... However, by being ethical, it may look harder at first, but it is the way to long-term success.... By building trust on a solid foundation.... Everybody has to look at themselves in the mirror every morning, and I want to have respect for the person I see.... I believe that not only is it possible to succeed ethically, but that it is the best long-term way to succeed as well.... And to bring success into other areas of your life as well, as those around you, like your spouse, your children, your parents, and your friends, will respect you too.... And the first foundation of ethical business is what Gordon teaches -- WIN/WIN/WIN.... Don't think just how do *I* benefit, but how do others benefit too? Then if you feel happy that everyone is getting great benefits, you can look into that mirror and say to yourself, "I'm doing a good thing...." Hope you enjoyed this post.... now also thanks for all the great ezine ideas.... So I'll install the software and we'll do it... :) Dien Rice |
