Default When it comes to the body, it could be good to do things in moderation....

Hi Gordon,

You made a great point! When it comes to the body, it is often NOT good to do things to extremes, but instead to keep things in moderation....

Otherwise, of course, you can damage your health.... which is the opposite of your goal....

Excellent point. :)

Actually, once upon a time, I used to work out with weights. (I've gotten lazy over the past few years though.)

A friend of mine, who was SERIOUSLY into weightlifting told me that you have to take a break every second day, to give your muscles time to recover from their strenuous workout. (This is for weight-based strength exercises, not for aerobic exercise.)

This would be an example of needing to moderate things, for the body's own good.

I don't know if this is still the advice nowadays, though.... (Taylor? You'd probably know. :)

Another example is the problem many have with anorexia and bulimia -- eating disorders.... I saw a documentary about a week ago about Karen Carpenter, the singer. Anorexia is a saddening disease....

So, I agree with you Gordon, when it comes to the body, it's better to do things in moderation, and work your way there gradually.... Otherwise, it could be bad for your health.

- Dien
