![]() ![]() Some Uber customers in China have become victims of a scam... Here's what happens. They call for an Uber car on their smartphone. When they call up for an Uber car, and a driver accepts it, the driver's picture and name show up on their screen. Some Chinese Uber drivers deliberately have "scary"-looking pictures on the screen! The customer gets scared, and cancels the ride. The problem is, if you take longer than 5 minutes to cancel, Uber charges a cancellation fee (of $10 in the USA), and some of that money goes to the driver. This way, the driver gets paid, without having to do anything! That's how it works... It's good to be aware of these things, just in case this kind of "scam" travels closer to home, too...! Here are more details... China has an unusual problem with Uber drivers http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/china-has-u...rivers-1582793 Best wishes, Dien
