Lightbulb Between jobs, looking to earn extra income

Greetings,
I am between jobs and trying to earn extra income until I can get a new job. Wondering what ideas the team members might have. Thanks.

Found this on CNN. Go to Living section then scroll down and on the right hand side there's an article under the Career Builder logo, about l0 ways to make money quickly (approximate wording). HTH

Hi Ivan,

I'd start out by considering what are your strengths, compared to others? What skills do you have where you have more "expertise" than other people do?

After that, consider what is the "market" for those skills?

For example, if you are great at repairing things - there is a great market right now, in this economy, for people who can repair things. While in the past people would often throw out broken items, now they're more interested in getting it repaired, if it will be cheaper than buying a new item. Some examples are appliance repairs, furniture repairs, shoe repairs, etc. If you can repair things, you can also take the "junk" that people throw out for free (or buy it for peanuts), repair it, and then sell it on Craigslist or eBay.

On the other hand, if you're "above average" at acting, for example... Well, a few actors make millions, while 99.9% of actors struggle, and can't make a living from it. There is not enough demand for all the people in the world who want to be actors. So it's a skill with a very low chance of success, when you take a hard-nosed look at it.

The other thing I'd look at is to build up your marketing and sales knowledge and skills. Those are skills which will help you in life, over and over...

That's advice that Gordon Alexander once gave me, and he's right! With sales and marketing knowhow, you can more easily find "buyers" for your skills and products. These skills can also help you get jobs - since a job application is really "selling yourself".

Forget about "Talent"! Forget about "Experience"!

Are YOU "Ready and Willing" to do some "No-Talent, Physical WORK?....that could lead to $500 to $1,000 PER NIGHT?"

If so...here's what HAS been done and what YOU can do...with a little guidance;

This evening Go take a look and some local Strip Malls...Grocery, Video Rental, Movie House and other "Parking Lots" in front of stores!

See if there is any "Litter" in these parking lots (Don't bother with the big malls, they are already under contract with BIG lot cleaning cos) The "Big Outfits" don't want to bothert with the "Small" jobs.

THIS is where YOU come in.

Since the 1st of the year...I've helped 6 guys "SAVE their homes"!

How? By showing them 2 things;

1) HOW to get the jobs that pay $35 per evening....$245 per week, $490 every 14 days.....just for CLEANING THE LITTER IN THEIR PARKING LOTS!

2) HOW to clean these parking lots with a "Special Tool" that lets you clean a lot in a fraction of the time.

Now...3 of these guys I helped get set up are collecting $490 every 2 weeks from over TEN....I repeat....OVER 10 Locations ($4,900+ every 2 weeks)

The other 2 are still getting started BUT...they both have 5 accounts. paying them $490 every 2 weeks....$2,450 every 2 wks = over $5,000 A MONTH! CLEANING PARKING LOTS!

Granted...this isn't "Internet Marketing" stuff...SEO Stuff...NO Computer Stuff. THIS is NOT "Glamourous", BUT...it sure comes in handy to pay your bills....and....it's NOT "Day" work. Your hours are after the public leaves the area...with their slovenly habbits of tossing trash.

AND...what I've discovered is that MANY businesses with parking lots WANT their lost cleaned of trash and...again....the "Big" boys charge too much.

So...this leaves an "Opening" for "Individuals"...who are willing to put in some "Physical Labor" (Not much though, with the device I suggest)

The "Big Boys" wouldn't think of charging $35 a night. That would just cover their "Overhead" or "Gas" BUT....you....as an individual...have NO expenses and NO overhead....so...$35 for about 20 min of "Work"....is "Fair and Reasonable" to the smaller lot owners.

Thus....you can "service" 2 to 3 lots per hour. 10 Lots would take 5 hours or less.

Would YOU be willing to "work" 5 hours a night...starting around 8pm till 1am... to have $4,900 put into your pockets every 2 weeks?

Actually...you wouldn't have to do the actual "WorK". You could have others do the "work" for you.

Anyway...if you're interested in this....send me an email with any questions.

NOTE: I am NOT "selling" any "Ebooks" or "Reports" on this program. I'm simply offering my "knowledge" to someone who appears to be in need of some "help".

Don... bull. This is something I know a little about.....

No one in their right mind would pay you $245 dollars a week to pick up trash. You're talking about $70 an hour for picking up trash.

AND unless YOU have ever done this, most small lots DO NOT get that dirty every night. AND THATS A FACT!

Oh yeah BTW I owned a parking lot sweeping business, with a REAL $80,000 truck. A sweeping business will get anywhere from $40 - $80 an hour. Depending on what kind of job it is. BUT even mall parking lots are swept every other night. Grocery store lots (which get really trashy quick) get swept 3 times a week.

NOW from what you are saying that's a $1000 a month for each client.

The ONLY 2 clients I billed that much were HONDA and ROCHE. VERY LARGE INDUSTRIAL SITES!

NO WAY that someone pays that much to pick up litter, much less not sweeping their lot. AND WE PICKED UP LITTER TOO.

Quit giving people hope, with your whimsical ideas. You're doing much more harm than good.

Pappy

I forgot to add that these guys also do something else in the parking lots.

They spread a "Special Powder" that "eats Oil". A "nematoad" type stuff. Every parking space in front of a strip mall or bowling alley or movie house or coffee shop or drive-in or gas station or bank drive-thru or where ever vehicles sit....has OIL drippings.

A 5-minute demo of spreading this Special Powder convinces the space manager of the need for this "Oil-Removal Service".

However....just starting out...go visit the people who are in charge of the parking lots and see what they will pay for "Clean-Up"...either nightly, 2 or 3 times a week or weekly.

Hello Don,
I am highly interested in the idea for cleaning parking lots. What are the products being used? Also who would you need to contact to get a contract to clean the lot? If you like we can correspond through email. [email protected]
