![]() How have you all found the best way to get traffic to your sites, even here for example. Are you doing free listing since I see many of those ads here, or are you placing paid ads around the web? I am looking for even more ways to find out how to get my site around and any help would be great.

![]() Where to get traffic from depends on the kind of website you have and WHERE your target audience hangs out and finds information about your industry / topic.
What I usually do is use a 3-prong strategy. Each website of mine has to have 3 different sources of traffic. Usually, these days, I'm leaning more towards starting blogs instead of the usual websites. And so my marketing is also a bit blogging related. Tell us what website you want to promote and who is your target audience. And we'll be better able to tell you how to promote the site. A few traffic strategies that work for most of the websites: 1. Article distribution and syndication 2. Creating viral videos 3. Using the top 10 web 2.0 social bookmarking sites (stumbleupon.com / digg.com / squidoo.com) 4. Press releases 5. Pay per click advertising 6. Affiliate / referral programs -- A bit outdated, but still useful: http://www.nethotsheet.com/ (scroll down for the marketing part.) |

![]() Ankesh,
Thanks for the list. Ok. One more time for the dummies... Please define.... Web 2. To me, there is no Web 2. There is just the web with certain features that have been around in one form or another for a lo-o-o-ong time. Features people either have on their site or they don't. Michael Ross |

![]() Thanks Michael for asking about Web 2.0
To me - its starting of a new era. Online journals were written by people in 1997 too. But today, they are called blogs. Its the same thing. But coin a new name and the idea catches fire. To me, web 2.0 means user generated content and easy collaboration. This link is a worthy read: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/orei...is-web-20.html MP3.com = web 1.0 Napster = web 2.0 |

![]() I think I can handle the articles, its something I have been playing around with. Not too sure on the videos, is it okay if someone that does not work for you does the video instead, I don't know if I would have anyone willing to get in front of the camera.

![]() Here's another little secret...
A Resell product recently put out by a Big name Guru... I'm noticing many who purchased the package are removing the Visible list of 750 traffic tactics... Which I thought was a Poor Marketing tactic for a Guru to Do... ![]() Way too much of a Giveaway of a product release... Because a Quick copy & paste into Google gives Anyone 750 Traffic tactics & ideas to Research and Steal... ![]() Might be some Lessons to Learn and study in this one... Still available through this Internet Marketer... And very Affordable if you actually want the product... http://pcfiend.com/goto/traffictactics/ Phil |

![]() Well, if you're looking for realistic how-to information, forget this one. It's nearly all one-liners telling you the obvious and mostly already known tips. Not worth even the 9.97 CAD or l0.06 USD, IMHO. If all you want are bits and pieces to mull over as you do your real how-to-do-it research well...go ahead and bite.
This should be more properly listed as a definitions type product because that's largely what it amounts to. Sandi Bowman |

Hi Nikki, I write an article once in a while, but most of my traffic is FREE, and comes from 2 sources: InstantBuzz.com, and TrafficSwarm.com Traffic Swarm requires that you devote a bit of time to it each week, but I get lots of traffic and a fair amount of sales. Pete |
