![]() Pros, asking for help.
I advertise physical products on Facebook, and I get many leads. I do the conversation all on Facebook chat, and I make sales via the chat. I sell all the products by mail-order. So I am asking you guys help on this copy that I developed. This follow-up worked OK, (I am not doing it now) and I would like your advice how to better it. It is basically a offer of 25% discount: 1- For you I make you 25% discount. Interested? If I don't get a reply: 2- Interested in the discount? If I still I don't get a reply: 3- I won't bother you again: interested in the 25% discount? If I got on any of the 3 questions a "no", this is what I ask: 4- I give you 50% (fifty) discount. The last warning of the 50% worked OK too. I got some sales with that last warning of the 50% discount. As I said, this worked OK, I am not doing it now, but I would like to make it better. Thank you all. |

One thing which arises in my mind is giving a reason why... Why are you giving a 25% discount? I believe the research (e.g. Cialdini) shows that giving a reason why will make people more likely to agree to your request (which here is to buy your products)! I believe that the reason why should be truthful, which makes it more difficult... (I believe in truth in marketing... ![]() One way is to tie it into a special occasion... E.g. I'm giving a discount... to celebrate Halloween, to celebrate election day, to celebrate Thanksgiving, to celebrate the end of the year, to celebrate my birthday, to celebrate my dog's birthday, etc. ![]() You can find some inspiration here... http://www.holidayinsights.com/everyday.htm http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/ For example, did you know that today (Oct. 27) is National Tell a Story Day in the UK? https://www.cute-calendar.com/event/...day/37340.html Wow! I wished I'd looked that up earlier and used it myself... ![]() (National Tell a Story Day in the USA is apparently on April 27!) Best wishes, Dien

![]() You are very correct Dien, I arrived that conclusion few days ago while reading John Caples, he talks about that: "notice the reason. That is important".
Thanks for remind me that. |

I think The Robert Collier Letter Book talks a little bit about this (first published in 1931)! He talks about selling slightly damaged goods for a discount... The products were still good, but slightly damaged, hence the discount... The slight damage was the reason why for giving the discount... And even with that reason why - they sold like crazy! Best wishes, Dien
