Default I hate it when this happens!

I'm checking my physical mail...

And I get a handwritten note...

Fuming, I think... couldn't they take the time to type it up properly?!!?!

Okay, I'm kidding...

Usually, if I get what seems to be a handwritten note... I pay more attention!

I think... wow, this person has handwritten this note, just for me!

It makes me feel a little special, like it's not a mass-produced note (though it's of course possible that it was)...

What's the bet that these "handwritten" notes get a better response - and thus, better sales, and make more money?

The point of this is to share Denny Hatch's article...

Stating that, in much copywriting - UGLY WORKS!

(There may be some exceptions, such as if you want to give the image of prestige...)

Best wishes!

Dien

Default Re: I hate it when this happens! OR this>>>>

Thank Dien, love me some Denny Hatch. Real pro.

So, yesterday, in the mail...UGLY hand written envelope hard to read return addy...and so I excitedly opened it.... to find a JEHOVA'S WITNESS pitch, with little flier, note, and ... they got me to open it...but it was sorted into the bin file.

Even good UGLY has to have some beauty for me in it.

Gordon

Default My mother-in-law got the surprise and shock of her life...!

Hi Gordon,

I get religious visitors too...

Which reminds me of a funny (or possibly terrifying) story...!

My mother-in-law is an immigrant to Australia... actually a war refugee... and during her early years in Australia she didn't speak English so well...

One day, a couple of well-dressed young men came to her door...

Not knowing much English, but not wanting to be impolite, she listened to what they said, and smiled and nodded a lot... Not really understanding much of what they were saying at all!

Apparently she had agreed to go with them... So she went along (being polite)... and they took her to a building...

Where she unknowingly got baptized as a Mormon!

(She's actually Catholic...)

You could imagine some could be angry or shocked at being "surreptitiously" baptized into another religion!

...But she just laughs about it...

Best wishes,

Dien
