Default Trade War With China?

President Trump signed an executive order that essentially says that the US will not buy goods from anyone who buys oil from Iran.

China buys a lot of oil from Iran.

Does this mean we won't buy goods from China anymore?

Seems like a stretch. Did you know that 95% of the ibuprofen is produced in China? Along with millions of other items. Perhaps President Trump is just using this as a negotiating tactic.

How does this affect us as marketers?

I can imagine putting together a special report for clients that would focus on how world events might affect supply and demand in the local economy or specifically in each client's business.

You could also find out what products are typically used in business that come from China and make a list for your clients telling them to stock up now.

You could go to local business groups and offer a report on how to thrive even when the economy looks like it is going to take a hit.

You could take a look at making fast money for businesses by using some Jay Abraham techniques to find hidden cash. (Glenn Osborn has a report on. this.)

Business owners might be worried... just go and talk with them and be friendly without trying to hard sell them... you'll get business soon enough.

Default Donny 2 Dolls and Sin, a winning combination.

Sin companies are mostly inelastic, especially ones with lower end products available too. Your headline assumes we are not currently in one but headed for one...I think daily activity says other wise, the war is on.

Marketers are a broad definition, as noted, those selling the so-called sin products; alcohol, tobacco and gambling, historically surge upwards in down times.

I can't imagine a market for the report you suggest, any business which isn't AWARE right now can't be helped with information. They need to be making their turns NOW.

As for those consulting with small businesses to help them avoid recessionary downfalls, maybe some of those Jay A. techniques might work if IMPLEMENTED AT BREAKNECK SPEED.

Donny 2 Dolls, the deal maker extraordinaire, has set the Battle Cruiser afloat, it may be too late to help many small businesses.

Maybe I'll revise the old Green Tree Press idea of making beer at home, or setting up a moonshine stand (iffin I can find Granny's recipe), and selling corn cob pipes with bags of tabaccy...thank goodness my lottery group is doing well...may not be able to handle the oncoming onslaught...thank you Donny 2 Dolls.

Default Re: Donny 2 Dolls and Sin, a winning combination. Some ideas.

Glenn O. is well positioned for the bad times; solar stoves, wood stoves, recipes tested and proven. He is well ahead most of us.

Those companies which import electric space heaters, are in for a tough winter. However, the folks at Lehman's in Kidron, OH will be selling out of their Ben Franklin stoves and all things "Amish" like supplies.

Putting up food may gain a new audience; all things canning, freezing, storing of longer term food may become a HOT seller. Home gardens, once again may tick upwards.

Hand made quilts, blankets and yarn products may heat up.

LOW cost home made soaps, not the boutique, G. Paltrow kind, will find a market in a recession.

OF course, money making reports and HOW TO, may zoom again by Fall, time to dust off the CHATTEL REPORT and update it for 2025; many people will be selling off their garages full of junk...and many will be buying too.

AI is giving me all kinds of info on what to "get in on" now for the coming recession.

I may have to buy up all the Barbie dolls I can find, and hoard them and use as barter, I suspect they will be just as valuable as World Liberty Financial crypto currency when all is said and done this year.

What ideas do you have to combat Donny 2 Dolls Trade War with China plans?

Default How I Saved The Owner of an Art Gallery w/SINFUL Paintings

Thanks Gordon,

You are DEAD ON accurate.

I found a guy making Literally TENS of Thousands
by painting SINFUL Paintings on Ebay

Suitable for The Rumpus Room in your house.

NO NUDITY.

Cocktail waitress in Bikini
Guy at table playing Poker
Drinking a tumbler of Whiskey
Smoking a Cigar

With Horse race in the BackGround.

When I got the Painter/Owner of the Art Gallery to Paint SINFUL Scenes
like what were selling for a couple THOUSAND each on Ebay.

She couldn't paint fast enough.

4 foot by 5 foot HUGE Paintings.

We Tested auctions - by phone and there in The Gallery.
Competing bidder vs each other..

And putting The FACE of Girl friends or Wives on the WAITRESS
or GUY in the painting - as a GIFT..

She got 5Grand or more for a CUSTOM painting.

Thanks,
Glenn

Ohh Ohh oh my gosh.

I wonder if Chat GBT can paint me some of this type of SINFUL Color
Paintings.

FAST.

Just saw a sign for an ART EXPO - this coming weekend.

I bet I could Outsell all the other Vendors.

Default Custom Paintings

Glenn, I know of at least two companies that take your photos and make AI created pictures (paintings) which show yourself as a king, duke, western gunslinger, or what-have-you.

Heck, I even created a few pictures using photos of myself to create a bubble pack of a handyman.

Just insert the following prompt in ChatGPT with a photo and you'll get a nifty result:

Use this image to create a picture of an action figure toy of a construction worker in a blister package from head to toe with accessories including a hammer, a staple gun and a ladder. The package should read "(Your Name) The Handy Man"

Default There's opportunity amidst the carnage...

Hi Millard,

I'm expecting a lot of business bankruptcies in the next few months and year...

Why?

Huge tariffs on China... There are a lot of small-to-medium sized American businesses that have their proprietary products manufactured in China.

A tariff is a tax on the imported product... It is paid by the importer - generally an American company. It is not paid by China! (Despite what Donny says...)

That means Donald Trump's huge taxes (tariffs) will eat up all these companies profits. They'll be forced to raise prices, which will kill their sales...

Why not just move to a factory in Vietnam, say? Well, the big companies are doing that. It's harder for smaller companies... Vietnam is already swamped because of companies moving their operations from China. The factories there don't want to do small orders, when they are already swamped with huge orders... Which leaves small-to-medium businesses screwed... while huge corporations will be fine...

Trump will even make exceptions on the tariffs for huge companies (like he has done for Apple, both in the past and present)... He doesn't make exceptions for small-to-medium sized businesses...

Here's an article about this, from the WSJ...

The CEO Who Says an Asteroid Is Coming to Destroy America’s Businesses
https://archive.md/tU52D

Where's the opportunity?

These companies that get wiped out... There is an opportunity to acquire their "toll positions" (eg their patents or other proprietary products) cheaply, either before or after they go bankrupt...

That's just the way it is...

I see what Trump is doing as in fact a wealth transfer from small and medium sized businesses, to huge corporations and billionaires... Though some of us "little guys" can also profit as our fellow small-to-medium sized business friends get wiped out...

Default How to nickel and dime the times, piggybacking the tariff's to consistent income...

Thanks Dien. What Dien and Glenn and myself see happening is:

OPPORTUNITY. Now we each have our own ways, and they seem to suit us so we continue going to the well that has the water.

Dien describes the transfer of wealth. Well, why not have some of that transferred into YOUR accounts?

With some help of AI, in the last week, we've (Me and AI), have generated over 150 report topics and as I learn better prompts for finding BUYERS in existing niches/markets, we (me and AI) could easily generate quick reports, which I would sell in the "pink sheets" market of Information, as I have done for decades.

Although, I won't be doing this, there is a huge opportunity for recurring income for a private members only forum, where the members create the bulk of the content; with AI carrying the research load.

I will remain in SIN, focused on the lottery, which AI predicts will set record breaking spends in the coming year.

All the "bad news", mostly as a result of Donny 2 Dolls daily moods, we all can stand to profit from what is happening all around us.

So come on SowPubbers, now is the time to cash in on the chaos. EH?

Default The power of "sinful" food!

Great post, Glenn!

(Full of fascinating information!)

I like how you used the free coffee (I think you don't even drink coffee, yes?) to get a huge discount on your oil change!

Food is also a "social lubricant"... People often gather around food, in order to make great business and social connections...

Your insights are also relevant to that!

And free food...

Once I told the story of a store that gave out free falafel balls, out the front, every time I walked by... Of course, a lot of people, after sampling a free falafel ball, would walk in and buy one of their falafel sandwiches.

Falafel isn't so "sinful"... But "sinful" food samples might even work better!

Best wishes,

Dien

Default Jay Abraham Created Lines at a BBQ Restaurant w/a Fan

Thanks Dien,

You know I bartered my way to 15 of Jay Abraham Seminars.

What you may not know...

I Sold dozens of 499.00 Newsletter Subscriptions for Paul Dunn And Chris Newton in
Australia in order to get Tapes of ALL of Jay Abraham Seminars
they sponsored down under.

(EDITORS NOTE - More valuable (In my opinion) than the USA seminar tapes.
Cuz Most Advertising and marketing DOWN UNDER is illegal. YOU GUYS ARE WEIRD. Must be living UPSIDE DOWN that does it. So Jay had to CHURN out dozens of ideas - to FIND ONE the attendees could legally use.)

When I called Jay years later
he Remembered me as his "Unofficial historian"
And commented that I was The
ONLY ONE he knew about who had listened to all of his Seminar tapes.

And complimented me as being in the "Less than 1% Who took Action."

Anywho.

Jay ran cheap plastic Foot wide tubing from kitchen out front
to busy sidewalk. With a FAN.

The AMAZING SMELLS out front created long lines.

I TWEAKED the Idea for a BBQ Restaurant owner in Pennsylvania.

Asked, "What is Your Best Selling - smells great - Tastes Great food item?

ANSWER - Pork Rolls.

So I said, "Your Restaurant is right next to the 1st hole at a Public Golf Course.
Cook up a bunch of PORK ROLLS.

Put them into a Covered Dish - Under some napkins.

Use TONGUES to Sample each golfer with a Free Pork Roll
AND give them a smelly - soaked napkin.

After working up an appetite.

LOTS of folks Showed up for MORE Pork Rolls. And an Entire Meal.

Glenn

P.S. - This Fits The SINFUL FOOD Category. Cuz if you eat a Lot of Pork soon you cannot see your shoes.
