![]() In Lesson 1 of Remote Hypnosis, you discover the formula:
The formula for REMOTE HYPNOSIS is: E of A = H of R SoM + P0I The Effectiveness of your Attempt to influence someone remotely is equal to the Harmony between the Recipient’s State of Mind and the Pre-Occupational Interrupter used to gain attention. Let's examine this and you can then begin to apply it to your own attempts. First there is a FUNDAMENTAL principle behind Remote Hypnosis (RH) which is: How to persuade and influence people is a key ingredient in success. In the first lesson you learn that people are PRE-OCUPIED. It is your job to break this preoccupation...and in the post below about DAK, you see how Drew Kaplan has done this effectively. Remote Direct Marketers that use Web Sites and also Space Ads or Direct Mail, know the importance of the HEADLINE. The HEADLINE is the Pre-Occupational INTERRUPTER. It crashes through...and the effectiveness of the attempt begins and often ENDS with this initial contact. My theory says that your effectiveness will be determined by the harmony between your TARGET'S state of mind at the time they receive the contact and the Pre-Occupational Interrupter used. How is this applied on the Net. Let me stay with DAK for a moment, because I showed you one way this is done... People have two general modes of surfing the Net. A "slow habitual" mode, and a "speed-skim" mode. The habitual mode is when you check your e-mail, respond (or not), visit your favorite forums (sowpub is on your list NOW isn't it?) and check the favs, surf for info, or do their regular ROUTINE. In a skim mode, you are in a hurry, just want to hit a few of the highlights, do you don't miss out on anything. If you hit DAK in a skim-high speed mode, and get to only two clicks, what happens is, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, you will bookmark the site or send it to your favorite files and then get back to it when you have more time. Are you like me? I have so many favorites, I could never get back to them, but I don't want to delete them either, I might miss out on something important. So, what Drew has done is given you a pretty picture to click on, which takes you nowhere, but it tells you to COME BACK, it is "under construction" without saying that, because, most people NEVER make it back to an UC site, do you? But if you are in a slower mode, you may stay and give Drew his three clicks. See? It depends on YOUR state of mind, what and how you do things on-line. Same as in the real world. You can become more effective, make your site work harder for you, by constructing the PI's into the main site. You'll see us do this as we develop more. There is a "rule of 7's" in Remote Direct Marketing that some marketer's live by...and that is that you must contact a QUALIFIED prospect at least 7 times before you take him/her off your list of contacts. Why 7? Lots of theories. I'll stick with mine. You need 7 chances to catch the target in the RIGHT STATE OF MIND with your promotion. They could have seen it 6 times and tossed it into the trash, but maybe on the 7th they were ready to receive the message. Maybe the time was right because the State Of Mind was right. That is why you MUST give people to come back and visit your web site. You have to catch them in the right state of mind. Now, of course, all this is covered in REMOTE HYPNOSIS, which you can't even get until Sept. 1 (aren't I a stinker?...no need to answer) Do you have a web site? Do you want one? Do you need one? If you do, how are you capturing people? How are you making them come back for more? I like to think of sowpub as this living thing, a entity that will have a life of it's own, and it will grow and evolve. To do that there must be input, contribution, growth. People have to keep coming back. One way is by using this forum as a tool to teach and to LEARN, which to me is every bit if not more important than the teaching. Any fool can lecture (and a lot of them do), but WE want to grow, so we LEARN. So study the formula, and then teach us all how you have applied it...or ask questions and we'll begin a discussion of the PRACTICAL APPLICATION of the Gordon Alexander Formula for REMOTE HYPNOSIS. ![]() Woof Woofing out loud!
On Friday I took the pages I am privileged to have od Remote Hynosis on my morning walk with me. I completely interacted with it, drew my PictoGrigms (several) walked two miles in between contemplating, reading and writing. It was so intoxicating (or I should say hynotic?), I forgot it was Bakersfield in the summer in August until I realized how far my journey had taken me and had to walk home! Speaking of bringing people back to our websites, I brainstormed these on Thursday....finally put onto the keyboard a lot of the methods I have been using.... Wouldn't it be invigorating to have website visitors returning repeatedly to your website, time after time, creating a fantastic buzz about what you have created (and as an overflow, what you are marketing?) I use a program on my site that alerts me when people are visiting certain pages within my site. I tell my friends, "Hey, there is a party happening on "Discovering.html". Watch out for the guy carrying the drinks to your left!" I can recognize some of my repeat (and repeat and repeat again) visitors. Remembering a Billy Joel concert: 5 encores that night. The audience screamed, stomped their feet, lit their lighters, just went wild until Billy came back 2, 3, 4 and then finally for the 5th encore. I would love to be able to hear my visitors screaming "Encore, Bravo!" but for now I rely on web statistics to see when they return again and again and again. 1. High quality content that changes regularly. This is critical: if your site is simply an unchanging sales page, who wants to come back to read ad copy? If you have quality "goods" as well as ad copy, you will create additional opportunities for people to actually READ your copy. 2. Serialize your content. While you are at it, make some of it "Web Only". Post a long article in several parts over a period of time on your site. Which is a perfect segue into: 3. Create your own ezine. Make it easy for people to subscribe. This may seem like a no-brainer, yet people get stuck in thinking they don't have the ability to write an ezine. Good news! There are many resources available where you can "mine" for Free Content from authors who would LOVE to publish in your ezine in exchange for a resource box. It gives them a chance to attract YOUR subscribers to THEIR websites. Here are some of my favorite sources for listing my own articles as well as finding articles to use in my own ezines: Websites: http://www.ideamarketers.com http://www.ezinearticles.com Email lists for Submitting/Receiving Content (The links are clickable, so you may subscribe now) mailto:[email protected] (Business Articles Only, please) mailto:[email protected] mailto:[email protected] mailto:[email protected] 4. Host a forum on your site where people can ask questions, ponder, share ideas and learn a TON of stuff from each other! People have to return to see responses PLUS they are very easy to get addicted to (speaking from experience). As the Moderator, you can be the host with the most, becoming even more of a "real person" which again attracts repeat visitors. Participating in other forums is a great way to bring people back to your site. People learn to both know your name plus they be a part of the excitement you are creating on your site. Again, there are many free resources where setting up your forums is VERY easy! Here are two that I have both used as a webmaster as well as a surfer: http://www.delphi.com http://www.everyone.net 5. Monthly or weekly specials that can only be found on your site. You may offer a "Freebie of the month" or a "Discount of the month". The only limit is what you can create in your imagination. 6. Invite live personal interaction with your visitors using "Humanclick". People can chat with you live without adding any software to their computer. People can visit with you and get to know you one on one. Human click is simple to install. If you have any questions naturally have live people on their site ready to help you. You can get human click here: http://www.humanclick.com/ Not as interactive yet allows visitors to hear your voice is PageTalk. You can record a message via telephone and visitors can visit your site to hear your musings. I have some people complain to me if I do not change mine daily! It works, but there is a nice page talk ad at the end. Here is where to sign up for Pagetalk: http://www.pagetalk.com 7. Finally and most importantly, express yourself as your true self on your website. This is your corner of the Internet. Shine as you really are because by doing so, you will naturally attract people who will want to do business with YOU. Not the you who you think you should portray yourself to be, but the YOU who you truly are. Experiment with your website, laugh at yourself, enjoy yourself. Webmastering has been one of the most creatively exciting adventures I have ever undertaken. Make your adventure one that invites people back to the party over and over and over! Now, may I get a drink for anyone? I am sipping an icey cold draft beverage myself.....ahhhh, nothing like a cold beer on a summer day! ![]() > drew my PictoGrigms (several)
First thing. Like your mind-mapping, when you WRITE/draw...especially pics...you access both sides of the old noggin, right? Left/Right brain integration... You know this, so I'll spare the on-lookers the class in neuroscience... But now that you have actually done a pictogrigm, the neural pathway has been constructed, the bridge that gaps the synapses has been built... and it gets easier and easier to access and to USE this brain stored cargo. Good for you for DOING a pictogrigm. Second Good on you for: >Participating > in other forums There is NO one right now CONTRIBUTING to more forums than you do, and because you know the law of giving, you can rest assured of the return. So, Why are Good Things happening for you? Because you are the good happening to THEM. Thanks for sharing, but now I have to spend an hour going to all those links, HA! Gordon Alexander |
