Re: Computer in Safe Mode, etc. I would just like to thank you and the others who responded and gave some advice on how to solve my computer problems. I had to take it to a repair shop and have it reformatted. Thank goodness I back up my important data on Zip Disks! I did have to reinstall some of my programs. I suppose that's a lesson for all of us - never think it won't happen to you! Anyway, as you can see, I'm back online and my computer is running A1 at the moment. Once again, I thank you for all the help you willingly gave. I shall visit the sowpub forum regularly - it's a very interesting and informative place to be since Bill Myers Discussion Group closed. Live long and prosper :-) Susan. |

I suspected as much but it's always worth it to try the things everyone suggested first. > Thank goodness I back up my important data > on Zip Disks! I did have to reinstall some > of my programs. Good for you! I can't tell you how many times clients have been bitten because they didn't have current backups because the systems we setup were "too hard" to use. To a person, they wished they had listened and used them when they suffered data failure of one sort or another. > I suppose that's a lesson for all of us - > never think it won't happen to you! Too true! > I shall visit the sowpub forum regularly - > it's a very interesting and informative > place to be It's one of the best boards on the Net. >since Bill Myers Discussion Group closed. I opened a new Guerrilla Product Developer's Forum the day Andrew Reynolds, (who had bought it from Martin Briggs who had bought it from Bill - whew!), shut down Bill's old board. The new board has been open for about 3 months. A lot of the regulars from Bill's old board have come by. I've got great plans for the board but we've got long way to go to catch up to where Bill had his board in its heyday. You can check us out at the link at the end of my post. > Live long and prosper :-) A fellow Trekkie! *g* Rick Smith, "The Net Guerrilla" The NEW Home for Guerrilla Product Developers |
