![]() I'm a big fan of the "Rich Dad" series of books.... I've read the big three: Rich Dad Poor Dad, Cashflow Quadrant, and Rich Dad's Guide to Investing.
I was wondering, has anyone read any of the books in the "Rich Dad's Advisors" series of books. (These are books not written by Robert Kiyosaki, but by experts who are essentially being published under the "Rich Dad" brand....) I'm interested in hearing any comments regarding them.... Recommended or not? Thanks, Dien Rice |

Did you read the reviews at Amazon? According to some (who seems to know the subject) reviewers, these books are so so. Oliver (back online) |

![]() Hi Oliver,
Thanks for pointing these out. Actually, the main book of the "Rich Dad's Advisors" series which interests me is "Loopholes of the Rich." I just looked it up, and "Loopholes" gets some strongly positive reviews. So perhaps that one is worth checking out.... :) - Dien > Did you read the reviews at Amazon? > According to some (who seems to know the > subject) reviewers, these books are so so. > Oliver > (back online) |

So > perhaps that one is worth checking out.... > :) As I said in my posts to Julie and Dan, I can highly recommed this one. I picked it up at Borders last week. I've thumbed through the one about intellectual property. I thought he could have given a *whole* lot more "how to." Robert Allen does a better job of covering the basics in "Multiple Streams of Income." Lechter does cover the basics and gives a few forms but I found myself feeling like it was more of an advertisement for his firm than anything else. There are two new ones out. One is on real estate by Dolf De Roos. The other is on forming your own corp. by Garrett Sutton. De Roos is on an audio segment in the "You Can Choose..." program. He did a pretty good job of it. I think he's also done some stuff with Ted Thomas. Garrett Sutton I know nothing about. I haven't see either one of these books either. (I was considering getting them through Amazon just because I've bought from them before, they're cheaper, they have what I want, and they have a good return policy. *g*) I think RK's financial planner has a book in the works as well. She gives some good info in the "You Can Choose..." program. However, "Loopholes" is well worth the money IMO. Rick Smith, "The Net Guerrilla" Guerrilla Product Developers Forum |

![]() Dien - I agree with the others on the mediocrity and self-selling qualities of the advisory series (with the exception of Loopholes, which has some "meat" in it as described by Rick Smith.)
I'm a fan of Kiyosaki as well, so was disappointed by the advisory series so far. I thumbed through the Sales Dogs book and found it pretty general, and the book by Dolf De Roos on RE investing even more so. It's an overview of how you can get rich in RE, but gives few examples. I was surprised in that I've heard DeRoos on tape and he was more specific and interesting. I also looked at one on how to start your own corporation (I forget the author) and also found it to be mostly a rehash of standard C corp vs LLC vs partnership stuff with a general chapter on raising cash. There are much better resources out there on these topics. Just another reviewer with 2 cents to share:-) Bob |
