We used a Rug Doctor and worked a deal out with a local Dry Cleaner. We would use the machine and pay him after the fact. He also gave us a great deal on it.

When you are detailing the car you could actually clean the floor mats with the carpet cleaner. In our case we would contract to clean a commercial carpet - anyone that wanted to leave their floormats back for the night would have them cleaned at no charge.

I like the touch up aspect. One thing we did with the Dry Cleaner - he gave us a deal on the machines - and we would try and sell drapery cleaning while in the house.

Gordon - this is the line that caught my ear. "an event he was attending that night" How many people have "an event to attend" in the next three weeks? Almost everybody - but many are going and needing to make an impression. At the larger parties a valet takes your car while you go in. At the end of the night everyone stands out front waiting for the cars - and commenting on what they see drive up. So there could be a large market for the pre-party clean up.

How terrible - actually having to talk to somebody!

Even in an online business like ours there is a lot of talking to people. In fact we get many comments on how pleased they are that we actually treat them courteously and like a live human being.
