![]() Hi Gordon,
Please count me in (as a volunteer)! I'd love to listen to your recording of the midnight sounds of Mary Campbell's cave.... :) Is there a market for this? I'm not an expert in this "genre" of product, but I bet there is! > Do you Dien (or anyone else) think that > certain sounds can set off neural pathways? > Ones that aren't normally accessed? I'm very > curious about this. What I am aware of is that certain frequencies of sound can put the brain into certain mental states, for example similar to the states of mind which others achieve through meditation.... In fact, a good friend of mine, Steven Birch (Ph.D.) - the same guy who also designed the Sowpub logo - did some related research on this topic for his Ph.D. thesis.... He was also interested in how certain sound frequencies can affect the states of the mind.... I don't know the details of this field, though, but I'll send Steve an email and see what he says about this.... :) I also have a copy of his thesis around here too, so I'll see what I can find in there as well.... - Dien |

![]() it is the Qlink.
If you have a minute read over the "scientific" research part of it. I know someone who wears one and swears by it... another pseduo-scientific gimmick? Or should I get mine today? http://www.qlinkgolf.com http://www.qlinkgolf.com |

I've often wondered about sound waves myself. Accelerated learning techniques often incorporate baroque music as helping. I was told by a geneticist who studies these things that listening to certain classical music trains childrens brains to think mathematically. My question if you know, your friend, or anyone here knows (Bob?) is does the source of the sound make a difference? Here's what I mean. I can have an electric piano and a string piano. Both instruments make the same sound. I have a hunch that the string piano affects me more than the electric due to different rates of vibration. ~ Dan Butler Vibrations for your eyes... |
