![]() Hello,
I read Dien's latest post... and I too have been busy *behind the scenes" creating and testing business ideas. :-) (I currently have 3 different businesses going... all based on my "expertise" of Internet Advertising and Marketing.) Therefore, I almost never have enough time to post on sowpub anymore. Of course, I still "lurk." ;-) O.k. On to my question to you... Just as most of you (if not all), I've been reading about, hearing, and even thinking about ebay. So, I wanted to take the time to do my own test. I took a total of 10 days, from beginning to end, to implement the beginnings of this ebay test. Here's what I did... First, I invested $13 in an ebook to get an understanding of how ebay operates. Next, I went to 1 auction and 4 garage sales in a 2 day period, and purchased some items for a total of $11. I than used the "secrets" I have used, over and over again, to get the number 1 listing on numerous Search Engines. I created what I thought to be an extremely effective ebay selling system in 7 hours... this system was based on our 3 years of Internet sales and marketing experience. Then, I took photos of my "ebay test items." After that, I placed my items up for sale. Since this was all new to me, I was a little nervous. Boy, did I feel funny when I realized I had just bid on one of my own items! I least that is what I thought... because within the first 4 minutes I had a bid! Hmmm... this could get very exciting... and addictive! :-) By the end of the first week, 8 of 11 items I had posted had been bid on, and sold. Now here is what I find to be *very* exciting... my investment for the "test" items came to $11. (Remember, I only paid an averaged out amount of $1 for each item. For one item, I only paid 10 cents for it at a garage sale). Eight of the 11 items sold. I relisted the 3 items which didn't sell... I'm testing an idea with them too, now. :-) The dollar amount in sales returned was a total of $118! The lowest bid on an item was $3.00, and the highest was $46.25. (Again, remember... I only paid an averaged amount of $1.00 for each item.) Now, I know that $118 is not a great deal of money. And, of course, I have to deduct my one time investment of a $13 ebook. Also, the extremely minimal ebay fees. However, what I'm excited about is that I used the *exact* some methods on ebay that I've used on my other successful Internet ventures. So, my questions to you are... Would you consider my ebay selling experience a success? Do you think my ebay sales were a good enough ROI? If I put my system together in a "packet," do you think others would be interested in purchasing my system for selling on ebay? Or, do you think this was all just beginner's luck? I really would appreciate your honest thoughts and opinions on this test. I look forward to reading your comments. Cordially, Diane Everroad P.S. Congratulations on your initial success. Can you tell us which ebook you read and if you would recommend it? ![]() Hello Jack,
> Sorry I lost the above post... No problem. :-) > Congratulations on your initial success. Thank you. > Can you tell us which ebook you read and if > you would recommend it? I would rather not mention the ebook because... no, I wouldn't recommend it. I was disappointed in it for the minimal amount of information it contained for the price. But, that's not to say for someone else, the ebook would have been perfect. Therefore, for me to say anything negative about the ebook would be unfair to it's author. I think when I purchased Ken Evoy's ebook 3 years ago, it set a standard that is hard for other's to compete with. :-) You might want to read the post I wrote for Gordon. Maybe your questions are answered there. > Thanks. Your welcome. Cordially, Diane Everroad If You've Developed a Dot-Com Waistline... You NEED this Book! Only $5.95 ![]() |

![]() Hello Diane,
I don't visit this board often, but always seem to find something interesting when the time allows. Just recently decided to give eBay a try and have spent countless hours researching auctions attempting to discover patterns of successful sellers. If you would be so kind, Kenneth Knight Won't post a link, but here's a picture I took yesterday in the Great Smoky Mountains on return from a business meeting in Gatlinburg. Took the scenic route and enjoyed the beauty of nature. |

![]() Hi Diane,
You said.... > If I put my system together in a > "packet," do you think others > would be interested in purchasing my system > for selling on ebay? If you do find your system keeps working, I would definitely be interested in purchasing your "system".... :) I think you could have a definite product there! - Dien Rice |

![]() then I'm ready to listen.
Diane, Sounds like your ebay experience was a good one. I hope it continues to pan out for you. If your tests do validate your "system", I would be interested in the details. Let me know what you come up with... JDB http://www.onlineauctionbasics.com P.S. Sorry you didn't make it to the July 5th bash with Gordon. It was a great meeting. Lots of fun, too. ![]() Diane -
Like the others have said, we missed you at the July 5th bash. A lot of good networking went on. I think you would have enjoyed it. > I took a total of 10 days, from beginning to > end, to implement the beginnings of this > ebay test. [clipped] It does sound like you have a possible product. Let me ask two questions. 1. I'm going to play the devil's advocate here. Using Dan Kennedy's line, "Why should I buy from *you* as opposed to all the other options available to me including doing nothing?" IOW, there are *tons* of other packages on systems for making money on eBay. What makes yours different from the rest? Now that I've said that, I think if you can answer this question and be able to use that USP in your marketing of the product, you'll have something. 2. I decided to ask you the second question via e-mail. I'll send it later. Rick Smith, "The Net Guerrilla" Click Here to Get a Great New Life in Just 10 Days |
