Default Fun on Ebay

Want to read some great auction copy and try to figure out why it is so successful? Talk about your remote hypnosis...

Go to ebay, and look up all the auctions from a seller named gomarket1.

You gotta read these...

Default Interesting eBay technique!

Hi Jim,

Thanks for pointing these out - wow, interesting auction technique!

I've linked to some of gomarket1's auctions below.... He seems to have an approach which works. (It sure draws you in....)

Default And then the 4th D NLP came and

sent me to sleep. Zzzzzzz.....

Frankly, I couldn't be bothered reading his letters. I tried. But they just never actually got to the point and so

I was outta there.

Default The proof of the pudding....

Hi Michael,

I think the "proof of the pudding is in the eating"....

His 4th dimension NLP set is a 6 cassette-tape set, and it seems to generally get bid up into the range of $75 to $150. I think that's not bad given that he's essentially a "nobody" as far as I'm aware....

I've linked to one of his past auctions below, where he sold this 6 tape set for $152.50 + S&H....

I think it's interesting.

By the way, "mesmerizing" with stories is a particular NLP technique.... Ross Jeffries also uses it (though he uses it to seduce women) - you can read about it in his materials.... I think usage of these techniques to seduce people is unethical, but I believe it probably works.

- Dien

P.S. I am not recommending this in any way - just the ads are interesting. There are other sources where you can find out about this stuff too....

Another one of this guy's auctions....

One thing that this Ebayer also does is to contact each bidder and then gives information in his e-mails to each bidder with the nudge that the bidder better get the item before someone else does, to increase the bidding...(I had a friend that bought from this Ebayer)

Giving the bidders more than they expect is a great technique to create desire, I think.

Additionally, this ebayer also creates the product himself from his experiences with clients and interviews, so he has fantastic profits as well.

Just my two cents.

Good call M.W. Why let previous buyers and their willingness to spend money with you die? You have already established enough trust - for whatever reason - to get them to give you some of their hard earned money. So give them the chance to give you some more of their money by letting them know you have another product up for grabs.

Since '98 I've been getting weekly emails from an eBay seller. The emails let me know all about their new auctions. And all because I bought something from them back then.

If you (not meaning you M.W., but everyone reading) sell on eBay, you can increase the action on your auctions by letting previous winners know you have another auction going.

Hi Dien,

I ran an analysis of his auctions and discovered the following based on 30 days of his sales history (ebaY only keeps sales info for that amount of time):

Number of auctions run: 24
Number sold: 20
Percent Sold: 83%
Total Sales: $2,261
Average sale: $113
Average Number of Bids Per Auction: 10.3

I used a program that analyzes ebaY seller and market sector activity called DeepAnalysis.

So even though some of gomarket1's items are selling for big bucks it doesn't look like he's doing a huge business on ebaY. I mean he's not doing to bad, but I've seen better ;-)

For example look up these ebaY sellers:
catindrum
intrepidway
infoking
xbook

There are people on ebay doing $10,000 a month or better! Which is good news for the rest of us ;-)

Default Selling DVDs on eBay....

Hi Dave,

Thanks for sharing that info.... Interesting! And the "Deep Analysis" software looks very useful (I'll have to give the trial version a try)....

Of the other sellers you mentioned, I thought "xbook's" auctions seemed to be particularly successful.

He seems to sell everything he lists - he sells DVDs, and I've noticed also from other DVD sellers that DVDs sell very well! If you can find a good (legitimate) source, I think selling DVD's on eBay could be a roaring business! I wonder where he gets his DVDs from....

Hi Dien,

Somehow I got to her home page (I think from here 'about me' page on ebaY) and she wrote that she gets them from publisher's overstocks, discontinued, etc...

SHe calls distributors and record lables to find out if they have any 'sitting' on a shelf then offers to buy them for a few pennies each...

Interesting, no?

Actually, Dave, I see it in another light.

If this guy is selling 83% success rate, someone simply needs to tell this guy that he needs to run more auctions!

Simple really, he should run a new 7 day auction every 3 days. If he has anough product to pull this off, he would be in that $10,000 category.
