Default Your business not making the amount of money you desire? This could be why...

"My business isn't making me enough money" is the kind of statement made by thousands and thousands of people about their home based business.

Whether that business is an online business, offline, mailorder, MLM, or even brick and mortar retail, the same complaint is heard.

Often, the "not enough sales" complaint is added to a "bad market conditions" excuse. Yet in reality, one common reason for lack of sales is

Lack Of Marketing!

People (your customers) cannot magically find out about you by receiving vibes from the ether. They find out about your business by
  • Seeing your print (newspaper) ad
  • Seeing your flyer
  • Seeing your business card somewhere
  • Getting your details from a friend
  • Receiving your direct mail letter
  • Hearing about your business from an endorsed mailing
  • Hearing about your business on the radio
  • Seeing your ad on the TV
  • Walking past your store and seeing what you sell, or your sign which mentions what you sell

And each of these ways your customer finds out about you, costs you some money - even a referal costs you some money to get the first customers who would then refer you.

Often, the difference between a large business and a small, relatively unknown business is

The Amount Of Marketing!

Nike markets all the time. Coke markets all the time. Kellogs markets all the time. LG markets all the time.

Joe's Maintenance (not the real business name), who just had his trailer full of tools stolen, doesn't seem to market at all, as far as I can tell. Yet the Fix-It Guys are always advertising.

Joe doesn't have enough money to buy another trailer. The Fix-It Guys are expanding.

The difference again is, The Amount of Marketing.

Want to increase your business?

First, examine HOW MUCH marketing you are doing. Can you do more? If so, where?

Then do more marketing.

Simple? Sure. Effective? YES!

Of course, this assumes you already do some marketing and have some marketing with proven results (marketing that works).

Default Mr. Ross...You

Hit The Nail Right On The Head.....

In all of my businesses, I put a significant amount of money in marketing.

MARKETING is the SECRET!

However, I find marketing is one of the things most small businesses care least about. No wonder a most businesses fail within the first year.

Thanks for the post Mike...
