Default Question Concerning Reprint Rights

As my business has gone into new directions, I have been wondering what to do with over ten products that I have sold successfully to the magician/performing niche.

Every time I placed these products for sale, I made several thousand dollars.

Now, I don't want to take the time to build a website or put these on auction or joint venture. These products explain the acts I used for years to perform at corporate events, children's parties, schools, and even how to get on tv talk shows, radio, etc. These products are CDs, manuals, etc.

Has anyone had experience selling the rights to their own products?

This time in my life I am going to sell the complete rights, along with Master Reprint Rights.

Anyone had experience with this?

Default Questions Concerning Your Question

Millard,

Thanks for ASKing.

What is it you Actually want to know?

What do YOU mean when You say "Complete Rights" and "Master Rights" - how do YOU view these as different?

Default Re: Questions Concerning Your Question

Thank you for asking as well.

I consider complete rights as rights to produce and sell a given product.

Master Rights are rights to sell the RIGHTS to someone else.

All the materials are what I used to book myself as a performer for over 20 years along with the EXACT acts I performed as well.

Frankly, the type of stuff I did, ANYONE can do with a little guts and a SMALL amount of practice.

Default Please Clarify

Millard,

Thanks for adding some more.

Let me ask for clarification again...

=> Complete Rights - the right to reproduce and sell the product.

=> Master Rights - the right to produce and sell the product and the right to sell Complete Rights to someone else.

Is that how you understand them to be? I ask because when you described Master Rights you just said to sell RIGHTS but not what type of Rights. And we need to be on the same page when talking about this because there is a Lot of confusion in selling rights.

Anyway. What is it you want to know about selling them?
