Any thoughts on the following...

I was reading up on backup Laptop power supplies and came across this kinda Scary topic...

Usually it's just about being careful with Over Heating fans in your Laptops... Never about frying anything else but your Laptops...

I'm sure we've all heard all about Cell Phones and Electromagnetic radiation dangers...

But it's Probably Best to keep our Laptop's away from those Private areas...

Definitely something to Know more about and be Aware of...

A Good Controversial subject for Hotsheets... Upselling products that can Protect those Private areas...

Thanks for bringing this to light.

This is a Deeper issue than just a lap top. There are very real Health Issues due to Electromagnetism - and not in a good way.

One lady had suffered from sever headaches for years. She'd wake up with them and spend the first few hours of her day trying to get them gone. She tried new pillows, taking medications, and nothing worked. She Heard about electromagnetism and had a Test done. Turns out her Bedside Clock Radio was emitting High Doses. She got rid of her Mains Powered Clockradio and replaced it with a AA battery Powered clock and her headaches disappeared never to return.

A family had a child. From the moment the child was home it had broken sleep. Sometimes it awoke with a headache. Sometimes not. Restless. Irritable. Grumpy. Insomnia. But when away from home it slept well. An electromagnetism test revealed the Hotwater System was putting out heaps. It was on the other side of the child's bedroom wall and the child's bed was against that wall. They moved her bed to the other side of the room and all Issues disappeared. They now had a normal happy child that slept - the child was 8 by the time they discovered this.

Houses Claimed to be haunted by ghosts always test High for electromagnetism - even old Haunted Castles. Thus explaining the electromagnetism is causing people to Feel the presence of others, even when such a presence is not there - and to see things too, for some individuals.

Other unnoticed electromagnetic sources include electric blanket and heater for a water bed. Even if the blanket itself is Off, unless it is off at the wall there is electromagnetic issues.

It is well documented the Health Issues of people living near High Power Transmission Lines. And how moving away from those lines improves their health and quality of life - less irritable, sleep better, etc.

Scientific Experiments have been done where subjects are subjected to electromagnetism. They report, feeling the presence of an entity, sometimes of being touched, of being held in place unable to move, of hearing things... all while they sit in an isolation room by themselves and observed through an observation window. (Much the same as those who say they have been visited by ghosts or by aliens.)

How did the lady know to check her alarm clock radio? How did the couple find out it was the hot water heater?

Do you know if there are simple ways to test your house/home for electromagnetism emissions?

Thanks for asking about self testing.

Both people had their home tested For them. But you can do it yourself...

You'll need some kind of Gauss Meter. Pop into your local Radio Shack or equal (Tandy, Dicksmith Electronics, JayCar, etc.) and ask if they sell them. Or Google for them. Here's one I found for $36 http://www.virginiahopkinstestkits.com/gaussmeter.html

Just make sure they can measure the field created by an electrical device and not just magnetism - as might be tested for with metal parts, metal pipes, tubing, etc. (most of the above should be the Electrical testing types).

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but research work along these lines has been done by Michael Persinger and others...

I pretty much exclusively use a laptop nowadays... (I don't even own a working "desktop" computer at present.) I find the portability of a laptop computer very convenient...

However, I never put it directly on my lap! One reason is the heat - people have been known to get burns from laptops if they're running "hot". Also, it's not very comfortable.

I almost always (99% of the time) use a regular desk or table, and just put my "laptop" on the desk or table. However, for those few times (1% of the time or probably less) when I want to use my computer, but I know I won't have a desk or table, I use what's called a "Lap Desk"...

However, I find using a real desk or table more comfortable! But using a "Lap Desk", while not as good as a "real" desk, is much better than putting it directly on your lap, I find...

I don't know what the effects of the EM radiation could be (that's more of a medical question), but I think it's always good to be cautious!

Electromagnetic radiation obeys what's called an "inverse square law"... In regular English, it means that if you double the distance you are from the radiation source, the power dosage you get from radiation will reduce to 1/4th. In practice, that means that even moving a small distance away can have a significant effect.

So, let's say your "private areas" are 3 inches away from the laptop. Well, if you increase that to 4.5 inches away, your "dose" of electromagnetic radiation will be 44% of what it was (or 56% less). If you increase that to 6 inches away, your dose of radiation will be 25% of what it was (or 75% less). So small extra distances can reduce the electromagnetic radiation "dose" significantly.

was thinking....about radar detectors ....

they pick up the sine wave created by the moving vehicle.?

if the sine way is a particular amplitude...say a +40...for my example...

and this represents a 'violation'

why not just have a transmitter on the vehicle that emits a signal with the cancelling amplitude ? in my example , a -40....

then you could just zoom on by ....with no reading on the policia's radar?
