Default Any Ideas on how to sell 8'X16' Billboard Ads?

I just met someone who asked me if I would like to buy a small plot of land with three 8'X16' billboards for $25,000 from him or at least sell the ad space for him.

It's a good location for a billboard on a highway with a fair amount of traffic.

He just can't or won't sell advertising himself.

Right now the space is empty, ready to be sold. I can't understand why when there are 4 other billboards within a stones throw that has new
ads every month.

He offered to give me one space for my own ad for free and said if I would sell the other two spaces he would split the money with me.

He told me to sell the space for any amount I could get from $1.00 a day and up.

I don't know what billboard space goes for in my area (Wilkes-Barre, PA) but to advertise on a bus stop bench is $2 a day.

Does anyone have any idea of what a fair price would be?

WHy not contact the ones in the same area that charge monthly and inquire about their rates?? Charge an average of whatever they are doing.

Good Luck, The big Dog!

Default Called them but they want to...

send a sales rep over and I don't want to waste his or her time when all I'm looking for is a ballpark figure. So today I'll take my camera and get some photos of my location and use the rest of the film to photograph other boards and go see the advertisers and ask them what they paid and what would it take for them to rent my board.
Thanks big Dog!

Default Billboard vs Clickthrus

Steve:

Check with your local authorities about being able to have ads on those billboards. It's one thing to have a blank billboard there, it is another to have an ad on that billboard.

Down here in the land that time forgot - or the a**hole end of the world as one of our former leaders lovingly called us - advertising rates are based on the number of people who pass the sign. The more people who pass the sign the higher the rate.

Also, the rate includes creation of the ad (printing it up, not designing it) and pasting it onto the billboard.

Default I beg to differ...

Got a letter the other day from the police. It was informing me my gun license for one particular state (I have a license to own guns in two states) had expired and I had to hand in my guns.

No biggie, right?

Except, the address I was living at when that expired license was first granted - some six years ago - is three address old. Yep... I had moved three times and not once updated my address on their records.

I asked... "How did you know where I lived?"

They said, "Driver's License."

See, Boyd. We have national gun registration in this country. You cannot buy a gun without a permit which is issued by the police. You cannot sell a gun unless it is to a licensed gun dealer. And they must fill out a form with the gun's details and send it in to the police. All guns are linked to a gun license which is thus linked to a driver's license.

All police can plug in your address on their in-car computer and see if you own guns. So if they want to visit you, they can know before they knock on your door whether you are a gun owner.

To open a bank account we need to show many of the following: birth certificate, passport, driver's license, other form of official goivernment issued identification, other bank "cards" and have a Tax File Number - so our bank accounts can be linked to the Tax Office.

We do NOT have anything in our constitution which guarantees our privacy. Not that I am aware of.

In the middle of this country is a communications base. That base received signals from satellites which listen to EVERY communication transmitted. Key words picked up in a dialogue between a couple of people flags the message for later listening.

Anyway. Best we can do is keep as low a profile as possible and buy with cash as much as possible.
