What is the best way to learn copywriting?


One guru said you should take old ads and write a sequel. I saw him do very well with an ad. He took Joe Karbo’s ad and wrote a great sequel

Another great Guru who is no longer with us said to write old copy with your own handwriting to learn it.


I have seen copies take an old headline and change it: “Do You Make These Mistake in English?”

It works for taxes and Real Estate and other things. “Do you Make These 6 Mistakes in Taxes” of course the body of the text is very different and pertains to taxes or real Estate etc.



Do have any other method for copywriting? Or do you use one of these methods. I like comments on this subject

Other than that, there is NO best way Joe and you know it.

You are definitely right in that the best way to learn writing copy is by hand-writing out old adverts, preferably profitable ones...

You can find a multitude of copywriting tips at these sites (not exhaustive but just the ones that spring to mind)

The late, great, Gary Halbert. This site has about 200 newsletters, each in individual browsers. Make sure you download them all (because you never know when the site might go down) and if you have the time, write out all of the newsletters BY HAND.
