Default Living from a Place of Possibilities

Hello SowPubbers!

I had something exciting happen this week. I would like to celebrate
with YOU!

I was making several phone calls, lines were busy, my phone
did not even ring I just noticed there was no dial tone and
said "HELLO" and got back, "Hello, My name is Amy Flurry and
I am a writer with Woman's Day magazine........"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then I picked myself up off the floor and said, "Hi, Amy, what
can I do for you today?"

Yes, I get calls like this ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the time..........(tongue
planted firmly in cheek).

She is writing an article called, "Design a Life You Love"
She will have several experts she is featuring in
sidebars, and I will be one of them. Basically, I will give
several tips to living with passion.......

I can not BELIEVE IT! And yet I can believe it 100% purely because
I am living according to my purpose. I have taken all that I have
learned and digested intellectually and taken it to the heart
level and beyond. Once it filtered through my heart, it is as if
my heart pumped it out to every cell and then beyond that, all
that knowledge and all the discipline of putting that knowledge
into action has made the Knowledge literally radiate out....I am
not sure if this makes any sense......but I know it is something
I can actually physically feel. And other people can feel it as well.
(That is simply amazing!)

So, sure, being included in a large national publication as an expert
is no big surprise......

And it is absolutely magnificently possible for EACH of us. The steps
are simple and significant.

1. Gain as much knowledge as possible in your special interest area.

2. Move that knowledge from the intellect to the heart. It transfers to
the soul through deep contemplation as well as using it as a
tool somehow (for me, mostly coaching writing and speaking and creating supporting products) For
you, maybe teaching or speaking or creating art...who knows?)

3. Continue to increase both the depth and breadth of the experience
by challenging yourself to dig deeper....wider....look more and try things out.
Just say no to fear......lack....scarcity. Fully embrace that YOU are perfect,
whole and complete. Judge and compare neither yourself nor anyone else.
Toss around your ideas with a loving, supportive, compassionate community
where you are applauded simply for showing up as your authentic self.

4. Continue to up the ante, try on new distinctions. Integrate your core values
into EVERYTHING. Show up everywhere as your life purpose. When it feels
inauthentic? Tell fear, scarcity and lack to hit the road, and stand steadfast in what you believe to be true...your vision, your values, your purpose, your cause...whatever YOU call it!

5. Sit in gratitude, love radically, give abundantly, receive with joyful humility.
When you believe you are doing all of these, kick it up a notch. Add a dash of
passion, a touch of clarity, and laugh through the fine tuning.

Right now my life is growing beyond my wildest imagination. I write this
from a place of amazement, humility and a strong desire to serve as I continue
to grow.

With Tears of Wonder,

JULIE JORDAN SCOTT

Default Julie, that is very EXCITING and your advice is so true!

Hi Julie,

That's WONDERFUL news!!!! :)

And it couldn't happen to a more wonderful person too....

I feel that this is only the beginning of much much bigger things, Julie! I know it's only the start of what's to come! :)

I know that Woman's Day is just the beginning! :) Julie, I'm SO excited for you! And this shows that these things certainly can happen to the nicest and kindest people.... :)

Julie, I can't wait! I don't know if it will come out in the Australian edition, I'll have to figure out how to buy an American edition of Woman's Day so I can have a copy of the article! :)

I agree with you fully, Julie! Your advice really rings true for me....

I've had my own amazing experiences in physics.... I've mentioned before how I flunked 3rd year physics. Then, a few years after that, I found myself visiting Berkeley for 5 months. I had an office a few doors down from Charles Townes, the guy who essentially invented the laser, and who won a Nobel Prize in Physics for it. I even had access to his private library.

How do you go from one state (physics flunkee) to the other state (down the hall from a Nobel Prize winner, with access to his private library)?

You do it by following the kind of advice that Julie gives! Belief in yourself is one of the keys.... :)

> And it is absolutely magnificently possible
> for EACH of us.

I agree fully.... We can all surprise ourselves by what we can achieve.... I could mention many stories about it here!

Julie, you're a wonderful example of those principles in action.... I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but you're really one of my inspirations.... :)

Thank you for sharing your inspiring experience and that very true advice! :)

I'm so excited when I hear about wonderful and good people becoming great successes! It can and DOES happen! :)

You're an inspiration to me, and I know you are to many others too.... :)

***I would be privileged and honored to mail you a copy, Dien. I imagine my Mom will be standing in Downtown Flagstaff, passing out copies. I am sure we will find a few extras!

WOW! Something just opened up in my mind! I thought, "I will even autograph it!" Wow! Me,
autographing something!

My daughter, Katherine, has tasted the joy of autographing drama programs, and my brothers who are car racers have autographed programs, but now it is happening! I will be autographing! WOW!

Thanks for that vision, Dien! Gives me something new to reach for!

With Purpose and Passion,

Julie, that would be fantastic.... I would LOVE an autographed copy!

I could frame it and hang it on the wall for inspiration.... :)

I'm very excited for you, Julie, I can't wait for the article to come out! :)

Fantastic! I've had similar publicity experiences though certainly not of the magnitude of Woman's Day. May I offer one piece of advice? (Ok. Two. *g*)

1. Make absolutely certain they include a link to your website or some other method for folks to contact you. A link would be best in my opinion, (or IMO).

2. Make absolutely certain that *you* and your business are ready for the influx of business and inquiries that could result. I don't know what the circulation of Woman's Day is, (don't have a Standard Rate and Data Service or SRDS handy), but I'm certain it's pretty large. Page views from even a fraction of the readers could strain your ISP. I would let them know what could be happening. Since your e-book is downloadable from your site you won't make one of the mistakes that I made when I was written up in The Boston Globe, (Or was it The Herald? I can never remember.) Anyway, I didn't have my free report ready nor did I make sure the paper included contact information so guess how many inquiries I got? Yup. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. That was an important lesson.

Looks like I need to get hot and send you the testimonial I promised you!

****Hello there Rick!

I am so glad to see your name! I was getting close to the point of sending out an SOS! And yes, your points are VERY appreciated and well taken!

The writer is including my URL in her article AND promoting my new book. And the circulation for Women's Day? I am not sure, but it is on nearly every checkout line I go through, right at the very front.....wowowowowow!

Thanks so much for your kind words, I truly appreciate each and every one of them!

***I know you are good for it AND I also recognize that when you get that into me, and I put it on my site, you could get some leverage from the windfall as well! Happy Win/Win/Winning as well!

With Purpose and Passion,

JULIE

Well, I've been around. Been doing most of my posting back in the RH forum. (Haven't seen you back there lately.) Not to mention the fact that I'm still working on the projects that you helped me kick off. Plus Gordon and I had a *marathon*, (6 hours), brainstorming session at my house last Saturday. We're still trying to assimilate all the ideas from that. It looks like some pretty cool JVs and products will be coming out as a result of that session.

Excellent! And I believe the circulation is in the 1 - 2 million range. I'm serious. They're big.

True. I'll get it done so you can use it soon.
