> PS. I love Woman's Day, they have the best > CHOCOLATE recipes in there. Not to mention their headlines. I like to use an old John Caples trick with Woman's Day, Family Circle, etc. Caples did it with Reader's Digest but it still works with the other mags. Want to know what headlines are selling? Look at the headlines on the covers of the magazines I just mentioned. (Those people sell millions of magazines each month.) Take those headlines and brainstorm derivations that you can use. I said it before and I'll say it again. One of my most successful marketing efforts ever was when I created some hotsheets for a business my wife was running. I used some *old* headlines from Victor Schwab's book. I put my own twist on the headlines. We had about a 7% response to both segments of the test, (which was a *very* random split test - we picked two streets at random *g*). Then my wife closed 100% of the appointments! We kept getting calls and referrals long after she was totally booked solid for the house cleanings. Those old masters knew what they were doing and the methods still work today.
