![]() I love bookstores...
Even in these days of ebooks, I'm glad many bookstores are surviving (and some are even thriving). I was worried that bookstores would go the way of the dinosaur. But hopefully not! I recently read about an unusual "bricks and mortar" bookstore - which is thriving! They do it through a very unusual business model... This bricks and mortar bookstore sells... ...only signed first editions! These are new books, too. Not second hand books. For every new book they decide to sell... They organize for the author to sign a bunch of them. Once those signed first editions are sold... They're gone for good. The upside? The value of those signed first editions can go up over time! So, the buyers could spend money on a book... And it could become a profitable investment! You can't do that with an ebook! You can read more about this unusual bookstore here... How one Alabama bookstore uses its unique business plan to succeed http://www.al.com/bhammag/index.ssf/...tore_uses.html Best wishes, Dien P.S. I was sick for a while (pesky virus), but I seem to be on the mend now...

I sort of recall, you reported on a One book bookstore? Or is that just old age creeping in? Gordon |
