Best Ebay Information Program

Hello Sowpub Readers,

OK, after all this time I have finally caught the Ebay bug. In your opinions what is the best program/book/ecourse to study in order to get up to speed on Ebay? I'm looking more towards information which explains the types of products which are successful on Ebay, etc. In my area (Palm Beach County, FL) antique shops are everywhere with some pretty extravagant offerings.
I don't know much about antiques but I am willing to learn if this is a good Ebay area. And from what i'm seeing this may be a good area to start.

Does anyone care to share what seems to be successful to them? I'm open to any ideas/information.

Hi Mitch,

One thing you can do is look through eBay's auctions yourself. Look at what gets bids and what doesn't.... And when you see a "PowerSeller" - add them to your Favorites or Bookmarks. They clearly are doing something right....

For example, if I wanted to sell baseball cards, I'd do this.... I'd type "baseball card" into eBay, and browse the listings....

If I found a "PowerSeller" selling baseball cards, then I'd study his or her auctions. What does he or she do which helps to make his/her auctions successful?

I might even buy a baseball card from him or her, just to get the "full experience". Once you know how a successful eBayer runs their auctions, you know about half of their business.... The other half is their sources, which is more tricky!

By the way, we have covered these kind of eBay-based businesses in The Great Ideas Letter, where we uncover the sources too.... It is finding the sources which is often the more difficult part. When we can find this out, too, we reveal it in The Great Ideas Letter.

You could do worse than starting with the cd sold by a near neighbor of yours. Jim Wilson, who lives in Melbourne Fl, sells a cd called 'Pathways to Ebay success' which, I'm told, is very good indeed.

Article: The Best Internet Marketing eBooks I've Bought This Year

Hi Mitch,

Antiques can be a lucrative area on eBay, but if you're going to get most of your inventory through antique shops you need to study the market or you can easily get burned.

Most general line antiques will sell for considerably less on eBay than you will generally find them for in antiques shops.

However, there are some niches within the market that have avid bidders on eBay which can be found quite cheaply in most antique shops.

One such niche is aspirin tins. You won't be able to buy hundreds of them in a week, but they can normally be picked up in shops for $5-10 or less.
I regularly sell these for $40-100 or more on eBay. You just have to spend some time watching eBays closed sales because like anything else, some brands sell well and other don't.

With some work and research you should be able to find several specialty niches such as this on eBay.
