![]() Hi,
What is the best way to capture visitors e-mail adresses? I use sign-up form, but there is a lot of "throw away" e-mails. I've heard of "opt-in lightning". What do you think about it? Is there anything like that, but for free:) Thank you! Bilal FREE DOWNLOAD: Actual Steps to Making YOUR Living Online (Retail: $39)! |

========================================= Hi Bilal, The question of 'best way' to do things always a tough one... the fact is... ...You shouldn't be doing just one thing to capture your visitor's email addresses, you should be doing *everthing* to capture your visitors email addresses and building your list...IMHO ;-) Now, Opt-In Lightning is based on a javascript code that pops-up on your web page when someone visits. It really is a good product... but what they don't tell you is that if the visitor hasn't configured their default email program correctly they'll get an error when they click on the "OK" button... and you never get their subscription request and will lose them forever. So is it good? Yes... but nothing is perfect. There's an alternative to Opt-In Lightning called UltraListBuilder at ultralistbuilder.com Anyway, my opinion is you should have both a sign-up form (static on your page) and some sort of pop-up and you should also have some incentive for people to join your list (i.e. a free ebook, report, prodcut, etc..). You may also consider using co-registration services to build you subscriber list like SubscriptionRocket.com (free) or WorldWideLists.com (used by many top marketers) or Marty Foley's LeadFactory.com (another good service). Anyway, I hope that helps! -Dave My son told me, "It's NOT Fair" to get $4,447 for 2 hours work |
