Jennifer Government: NationStates

To follow on from Thomas's message....

This site was created by Max Barry. He's a former marketer and marketing lecturer, and now author.

His first book was "Syrup" which lampoons the world of marketing (you can read rave reviews around the 'net), and his second novel is due out soon, called "Jennifer Government". He's already sold the movie rights to "Jennifer Government" to George Clooney's film company.

The "Nationstates" game was created by Max in order to promote his book. Will it succeed? Time will tell.... But here you get an early "peek" at what's going on.

It took Max 4 months to design and create this game (with the help of a programmer friend of his) - which shows the effort some will go to in order to generate free publicity! In this case, Max is trying a form of "viral marketing" through the game - to get the word out!

It also reminds me of Mike McGroarty's outhouse/shed, and Gary North's concrete outhouse - they're worth the effort if they generate the publicity and attention they hope to get!
