![]() Hi,
Let me first say that I am a frequent reader of these and other forums and there are some fine and inspiring individuals here. So I bring this to your attention: I am in the process of building an online store, retailing personal security products (such as self defense devices). I see that there are already hundreds of websites on the internet selling these products. I would like to know what I need to do to make myself stand out from the competitors, how would the website be promoted, and who is my main target market. Who buys these products and why? Anticipating a prompt reply, thank you for your help. |

Just so I understand this... You are currently building a website to sell a product. You do NOT know who your market is. You do NOT know who buys these products. You do NOT know why they buy. You do NOT know how this website would be promoted. Seeing as you know absolutely nothing about the market or those in it... why do you want to sell things to them? Did you think it would be "cool" to sell security products? Or...? The best advice for you at this moment in time is STOP! Stop what you are doing right now. Cease all building of this website. Identifying the market... and knowing WHAT they buy, WHY they buy and HOW to reach them... should come before building your website. IF you have picked up these products from a security gadgets manufacturer, ASK them your questions. They should have plenty of research data to share with you. After all, the more successful you are, the more succesful they are. And if they offer no support whatsoever. If you are on your own. If they "just make stuff" and leave the selling to you. Then find another manufacturer to work with. Again I ask... why do you want to sell security products? Michael Ross Get PROVEN ideas here |
