Default One of the most interesting ways to market a product or service that I tried....

...was offering a "subscription" of our product when a fundraising organization came by to our pizza restaurant to ask for a donation for an auction. (We have since sold the pizzaria, but I still use this idea--and maybe you can implement it into your business).

The donation consisted of weekly coupons, each good for a free large pizza with two items, for a three month period of time. Each coupon was only good for that ONE week (although we occasionally stretched the rules on it).

Now, your "experts" out there tell you that a habit is formed when you do something repeatedly over a period of time. What we did is created a "pizza habit" with the family that got our subcription through the auction.

We also had a stipulation on the coupons, saying that the coupons were only transferable to a member of their family...so if they were not interested in having pizza that week, they could pass that week's coupon onto an extended family member.

The results of this? This family became a regular weekly customer, told MANY friends about this unique subscription of theirs (and our delicious pizza!), the kids thought it was great because they could "spring for pizza" that week for themselves and their friends, and other extended family members became regular customers as well, because they had a chance to try the pizza, heard it was good from other family members... it was a win-win situation.

What could you do with this idea for your business?
