![]() Here's an interesting web-based tool (or "online 'bot") - to help "predict" how successful your headline (for your ad) might be!
(It might be good for selecting possible book or article titles too, if you write books or articles...) It's the "Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer"! Give it a try (with your own headlines, if you like)! It's certainly fun, and kind of fascinating... And probably useful too! I tried out the first 10 of "The 100 Greatest Headlines Ever Written" (from http://www.yellowpagesintoprofits.co...headlines.html - the list is originally from Victor Schwab's book "How To Write A Good Advertisement" )... To help understand the results, they say... "most professional copywriters' headlines will have 30%-40% EMV Words in their headlines, while the most gifted copywriters will have 50%-75% EMV words in headlines." (I took out any dashes in the headline for the purpose of testing...) Here are the results... 1. THE SECRET OF MAKING PEOPLE LIKE YOUWell... Most of these headlines scored pretty well! (As you'd expect!) Another interesting thing is, only one headline appealed only to the "intellectual" side of things... Most of the ads had an "empathetic" appeal... Hmm... Would these headlines work today, do you think? Perhaps some would, some wouldn't... I know for a fact that many professional copywriters are still using the "Who Else Wants..." formula (see no. 9) for writing a headline nowadays, with successful results... That particular "formula" has been working for over 50 years! (That headline also got the highest score of the 10 headlines tested above... Coincidence? Hmmm....! ) Anyway, try out the tool for yourself, and see how it might help... You can find the "Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer" at http://www.aminstitute.com/headline/ Cheers, Dien Last edited by Dien Rice : February 14, 2007 at 10:35 AM. |

![]() (Used to get response from the Medical community...Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors)
"CAN YOUR OFFICE HANDLE 5 TO 10 NEW PATIENTS A MONTH?" Getting IN to see Doctors, Dentists or Chiropractors is tough. I don't know where this headline rates on your scale but....everytime I've used this it gets response for my "Welcome" program. It asks a question and it "assumes" they would LIKE to have more Patients. Don Alm |

No kidding? It should be really simple for you accountant types..... If assetts minus liabilities equals more than a million dollars, you're a millionaire (or so they tell me) By those calculations, I already am. Intrestingly enough, my personal checking account has a current balance of -4.72 Go figure? Jim |

![]() Thanks, Dien!
I tested a couple I had considered using and one was 33.33 EMV and Intellectual. The other was Zero! Ugh! Well, best to know now. Now I know why I didn't 'like' the second one...it just didn't feel right somehow. Back to the drawing board. ![]() Sandi Bowman |

![]() I don't know what the heck is going on, but every time I try to access the site all I get is pop-up ads to saying "you've won a new lap top".

![]() Some of the (known) greatest headlines of all time don't do very well according to that 'robot.' -- so don't put too much stock in it, I'd say.
