![]() Crazy Ron from the discussion below had only 2 1/2 days to make as much money as he could, but he just went to fast!
With a camera crew in tow, Ron got caught speeding 112k in a 70k zone. Seems he was running late for his plane to take him to Sydney for the deadline. He's obviously a good salesman as he got off with a warning. Apparently there's now an investagation into the incident. I recently did 112 in a 100 zone and got fined $90! I didn't get a chance to try and talk my way out, it was a roadside camera and I didn't even now I'd got booked until the photo came in the mail, although you can clearly see me talking on the phone...which is another offence. I might give Ron a call and see if he can give me any pointers;) |

Apparently there's now an > investagation into the incident. Yes, this incident was all on film and was broadcasted! No wonder they're looking into it.... Actually, he kept saying to the cop "that's okay I'll pay the fine" but in the end the policeman let him off with a warning. He also got a ticket earlier too, for driving while talking on his mobile phone (which is illegal in Australia). I think there he got a $75 fine. > I recently did 112 in a 100 zone and got > fined $90! Tut tut.... > I might give Ron a call and see if he can > give me any pointers;) Heheh, it was unusual, because he kept saying "I'll pay the fine," I guess after all that insistence he'd pay the fine, the cop decided to be a "nice guy too" and let him go! I wonder if the "principle of reciprocation" could be at work here.... One form of this is that if you give a concession, the other person feels like they should give a concession too. Maybe by "Crazy Ron" first making excuses ("I'm in this competition, I have to get to the airport"), then conceding and insisting it was okay, he'd pay the fine, the cop felt like he should make a "concession" too by letting him go.... It could be the case! Dien Rice |
