![]() Ankesh,
Figured you'd enjoy that one... Make sure you checkout the following on their website... SUPER CRUNCHERS might be a Good read for some... ![]() Why Thinking-By-Numbers is the New Way to be Smart... At the time, Profesor Ayres was in the research phase of his book Super Crunchers: Why Thinking-By-Numbers is the New Way to be Smart. It just so happened that this research required him to interview Karlan on the subject of poverty-alleviation initiatives. Once that business was out of the way, Karlan told Ayres about The Commitment Store. Ayres loved the concept, both as a personal tool that he’d go on to try himself (click here to read his personal weight loss story), and as a business opportunity. Before long, their discussions gave birth to a bouncing baby stickK! http://www.randomhouse.com/bantamdell/supercrunchers/ Test drive some of Ian Ayres' suggested prediction tools... Some interesting business ideas and possibilities in a few of these... ![]() http://islandia.law.yale.edu/ayres/predictionTools.htm Phil Last edited by Phil : February 8, 2008 at 04:40 AM. ![]() Thanks Phil for bringing Super Crunchers to light.
I had heard of the book sometime back but didn't buy it. Because after reading reviews, it seems that the book is full of stories. But is not applicable. It doesn't give any "how-to" information on what you can do to use statistics and number crunching better for your company. (Thats the impression I got from reading its reviews on amazon.com.) I've not yet come across any book that makes data crunching interesting, easy-to-understand and applicable for the layman. |
