![]() Is this forum relatively easy to set up and administer?
I have a member site using the old Web BBS software, and my members are asking for a forum where they can see all the messages in a thread at once. So I'm looking at this software and would appreciate input. One concern I have is that there are so many user options, I think my users would want fewer. Is it possible to disable some of the options administratively and simplify the forum operation? Thanks! Marcia Yudkin |

Marcia, This is very easy software to use, and yes, you can disable some of the options. We use probably less than 10% of the "power" of vBulletin, and we've added forums, taken them off, made some private, keep a couple totally unknown and by invite only... But, it is so easy, even I can use most of it. We've worked with other platforms, but this one is sort of in the middle for us, not like the old single thread forum, and not cluttered with forums that can be overwhelming...we give it a 4 thumbs up. I've "customized" the script so it has the "WebBBS"-style of threaded-posts look... (vBulletin doesn't normally have that as an option.) I'll send you some more details by email in the next couple of days or so (I have to dig the details up, since I set all that up around 1 1/2 years ago)... - Dien |
