I see this doing two things:

1. collecting good amounts of data about my surfing habits

2. finally have the opportunity to get rid of Windows. I can just see my PC booting-up, connecting to the net, I open Google's Chrome browser and I have access to my email, surfing and my Google Docs (on and offline for the Docs)

That was my major concern as well, How can I be assured that my surfing habits will not be monitored?

The source code for this browser is open source, so that would indicate that there won't be any dodgy business.
