![]() Hi All.
Brief update. I had eye surgery on Monday and I can now see out of one eye, hope to have the other one done soon. I haven't been able to read for months without huge magnifyers...so, I'm elated. It has been a very rough 18 months, going back to my heart attack in 08, the passing of my housemate in July and my mother on Jan 11 of this year. Add in some serious health issues, some failed business adventures, a couple of fainting episodes which have left some permanent bumps on the old noggin...and well, I'm looking forward to this great new year. 2010 is great, and I'm going to do everything I can to make it better. Over the last year I've heard the following dozens of times, "If you have your health, you have everything." I now disagree. I know plenty of people in good health living miserable lives. I now would say, "If you have friends (true blue) and a loving family, you have everything." I want to get back to "work" ASAP, it will take about another 3 weeks, but today, I checked my "accounts"... Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Ryze...and a couple of other of the social networks I belong too. Are these still relevant to business and marketing? I'm out of the loop. Anyhow, I've uncovered some incredible NEW concepts and I've put some of the OLD ideas (like Toll Positions) into force, and I'm applying all the wonderful knowledge YOU all have provided over the years. I want to thank you, I've made some great FRIENDS here, especially Dien Rice who has been super supportive these last months...and many others. YOU are important. To me and to the community at large. NOW, let's get back to business and help each other to achieve our mutual goals and individual targets. It's great to SEE you all again. MORE later, OK? Gordon Jay Alexander PS. What a great time to be alive and kicking, eh? |

![]() Well, well... he's BACK!
Great to hear from you Gordon. Glad to know your doing better and now you can SEE?! Awesome! Just don't walk around too much if you have only one good eye, you might run into the wall or something! LOL ![]() Anyway, I'm looking forward to the year even more now that your still a part of it. Btw... Just left the "hardware" store here in my hometown. Guess whose product I saw on the shelf...yep, none other than Harvey's. The Zoom Spout Oiler. Man, can't wait to set up my Toll Position. Thanks for the update Gordon. Fred |

I'm glad you're back! You've been dealing with a lot of very difficult stuff lately (having lost my father just under a year ago, and my mother a few years before that, I know it is very difficult)... Plus health issues too... However, I think these are "exciting" times! Sure, there is difficulty too... But on the other hand, there are also opportunities... We've talked a little about the Apple iPad lately. One thing we haven't talked about (yet) is how it could also represent an "opportunity"! I read an article saying how many people didn't quite "get it". The iPad is not a "content creation" device - unlike a computer. It is primarily for "content consumption" - that is, "consuming" media of all kinds... music, videos, and also now ebooks and other written materials. (Unfortunately, I don't have a link for the article... if I find it again, I'll post it...) Doesn't that sound potentially exciting if you are in the "content creation" game? It means that suddenly, "mainstream" people will find it easier to "consume" the content you create! (And you could make some bucks from it too!) My belief is... suddenly, this is the key which could help ebooks (and other online media) really get big and mainstream... If you are a "content creator" - the next few years could potentially be a very exciting time! Best wishes, Dien |

![]() Hi Gordon,
It's great to hear from you my friend. I am glad to hear your surgery went well and the eyesight improving. I know a little about loss of eyesight as I had lost mine for nearly a year and a half when I had a stroke in '05. I have been bleeses with the return of most of it. I'm praying for full recovery of eyesight for you and look forward to hearing of continues progress and healing. May God bless. Randy Quote:

![]() I have one eye working, should have both available by March.
Phil, you are a true treasure and we value your posts and personally, I want to thank you for all the great ideas you've given us and ME in particular. This year is going to be interesting. I've just finished recording my first audio in many years and there are some new things happening. Just glad to be above the grass at this point, and I appreciate every day as it arrives. Thanks again, Gordon Jay Alexander |

![]() Gordon,
I'm sorry to hear that you had some difficult things to deal with lately. I enjoyed chatting with you last spring, we did a little catching up but I think I was standing in an Ice Cream store with Pam and the kids so our conversation was shorter than I would have liked. Then in August Pam and I went up to New York just to relax and Leo Quinn showed us around Lake George. Enjoyed spending time with Leo as usual. I wish I could spend more time here with Dien and the rest of the gang, but these days I just kind of hang out with my gang at http://freeplants.com. We've got such a strong community of Backyard Growers now that I try to not distract myself. Anyway Gordon, I'm glad to hear that things are going better for you. Trying times are trying to say the least. I lost my parents in 03, and 04 then in 05 Pam and I bought a new home. 2 weeks later she got sick and we were in for another 18 month journey. I'm happy to say that she is 100% now. I still remember the day that two complete strangers showed up on my door step on a Saturday morning just to say hi! You and Rick Smith. (we met on this board about 10 years ago. Thanks, Dien!) I remember standing in my backyard talking about the videos that we shot there and Rick, always the techie, asked me how I edit my videos. He almost fell over when I said; "We don't edit them, we just shoot em and send them out! If the camera falls over we pick it up and keep shooting." So if you talk to Rick, tell him that I still haven't edited my videos, but I do tell that story often when I'm trying to convince people that good is good enough. Take care Gordon, one of these days me, you and Leo need to get together. -Mike McGroarty |
