![]() Hello Seeders!!!
I was invited in here by one of the regulars. Here is my first business advice to the group, just boot me out if you don't want more LOL. Whatever business you start should enable you to carry the total operating "equipment" of your business in your head and in your briefcase and in ONE suitcase (and you can use local services). I found this to be true in the last 20 years of making money on the net and in the landscape. Travel light - travel stealthy!! (Hackers, can you lookup my base IP? No, you can't, try and see for yourself...) - Craig |

![]() Interesting point, Craig. Others have spoken of "suitcase businesses" meaning portability of locations. I guess you mean true portability of all assets as well?
I can see that in a web-based business. In the real-world I've essentially done that with consulting, keeping knowledge in my head, reports in my laptop, and using Kinko's to produce deliverables. Any other examples? Bob |

![]() G'day Craig.... Welcome! :)
> Whatever business you start should enable > you to carry the total operating > "equipment" of your business in > your head and in your briefcase and in ONE > suitcase (and you can use local services). > I found this to be true in the last 20 years > of making money on the net and in the > landscape. Sounds like good advice, if you can do it! I like the idea of making money with little, especially with just your mind and what's around you.... That way, you're as free as the breeze! Travel anywhere you like, and with just your suit case you can do alright.... :) A friend of mine travels like this on a whim, but he's still dependent on jobs.... He travels the world, settling down in a place for a year or two, before moving on to somewhere else. (He just turned 30 though, and I think he's starting to feel like settling down....) He's Canadian, but he's lived the last 10 years or so in places like England, Japan, Holland, Germany, and right now he's living in Sydney, Australia.... He usually gets jobs as a waiter or bartender, but being free and mobile I think is a fantastic ideal.... :) > Travel light - travel stealthy!! Great advice if you can do it.... What are some ways to do it though? This is the main thing which attracted me to an internet-based business in the first place, actually.... The idea that as long as you have an internet connection, you can run your business from anywhere in the world.... :) - Dien |

![]() (from A-Sitting On A Gate)
But I was thinking of a way To feed oneself on batter, And so go on from day to day Getting a little fatter. I shook him well from side to side, Until his face was blue: "Come, tell me how you live," I cried, "And what it is you do!" - Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (noted mathematician) To answer the query posed... Other examples of suitcase businesses would be "mentoring," "counselling," being a distributor, being a decorator or a hairstylist, being a PR guy, running an internet business. But the BEST ones are being a lecturer and being a mailorder dropshipper. - Craig |

![]() Hey folks,
I fear that soon this will not be a good idea but the only way to go. How safe do you feel? Do you realize you're living an illusion thinner than smoke? At any moment, your government can freeze your asset, shut down your business and grab your home. What would you do? You'd better have a back up plan. Hey, I love people, enjoy 'em, like helping 'em. But you can have a thousand people love you and just one environmentalist who loves the spotted owl more than you, and your life, as you know it is gone...hmmm. Just my 4 cents worth! (Hey, I'm high priced!) |

![]() Hi,
BTW, I'll take credit for inviting Craig over; I met him in one of my other affinity groups. You wrote: > How safe do you feel? Do you realize you're > living > an illusion thinner than smoke? I hope everyone prints out your message and tacks it to their walls. As usual, you've hit the nail on the head. Best, -Boyd |
