Well, if I was buying a car, there's little chance I could get a new one within such a short time frame. All that dealer stuff about making the car ready would delay it. Second-hand? I could probably do that. As I can't use cash I'd just get a bank check. Money held in escrow with a check that draws on that. Go to a car yard and ask to go for a test drive. As the goal is "to drive a car..." that would fulfill the requirements. Check out the newspaper - the cars for sale section. And call the sellers up and take their car for a test drive. If I'm to buy the car, a no-money-down deal may be possible. But then the owner would be providing credit. Then there's "Drive Aways." Find someone - car dealer for instance - who needs a car driven from one location to another and be the person to drive it. Is this a real possibility? I don't know... I'm going by what I remember from the movie "The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer. Find a "sales" job that provides a car. Whatever car I get, that becomes the car of my choosing. Henry Ford style... any car I want as long as it's... Car auction? What are the rules in NY? Find someone who has the car I want and do a deal to swap my labor for the ability to drive it. Exchange my labor for driving the car instead of wages. Find an old aged person who can't drive to well and drive them around in their car. Lots of way to "drive a car". Michael Ross. |
