I've had enough about MUGS for now. It has crossed the line to blatant advertising and as far as I know, only Dien and I are allowed to post ads without permission (and even then, I usually ask)...

Unless there is NEW information about the Mug Advertising business, consider the thread locked. I can lock it for real or make it disappear altogether...but I'd like it to stay up and let people make their own decisions about the various mug czars out there.

But as a topic for further discussion...let's drop the mugs, OK?

Hi Gordon,

It's been an interesting "mug-fest"... Very very educational and insightful posts, from all parties! Skip's report (which I read - linked to here) also gave a completely different angle to mugs for restaurants, with his mugs for realtors/local businesses idea...

However, of course, there are a TON of great business ideas out there to implement...

Wigs for dogs may or may not be one of the "great ones"...
Don't worry, there are plenty of OTHER ideas around, too...!

OK...enuff of the "Muggie-bizness"....except.....following along with Skip's mention of "working with Real Estate" people;

[b]Why not supply local Real Estate offices with FREE Mugs[/B]?

These offices see lots of people...even nowadays. And....the bizes that would LOVE to get their info into the hands of people looking to move into a different home....would LOVE to pay for an Ad on these mugs.

Get the names of these biz owners from the real estate people. Should be pretty easy.

You should be able to find DIFFERENT biz owners who are willing to pay some "Decent-Dollars" to "Have Their Mug on your Real Estate Mugs".

For a couple of years....I made FREE...."Telephone-Address Books" for realtors....that had ads of biz wanting to reach people looking to change their residences.

Then I switched to "Mugs" and ALL involved....Loved Them.

Notice: No mention was made here, of "Specific" amounts!

Some yrs ago I placed Ads on the "Sleeves" of "Paper Coffee Cups".

These are the small pieces of cardboard type material that slips onto a Paper Coffee Cup to protect the coffee drinkers fingers from the hot coffee.

The "Independent" coffee shops and drive-thrus LOVED them. They were FREE and had their Name on them.

You could do the same with PAPER Coffee Cups. Lots of space around the cup to place 8 to 10 ADS of local businesses.

The "Independent" coffee shops and drive-thrus would LOVE to have you provide their cups to them at NO Charge. And the businesses would get GREAT exposure from local coffee drinkers.

When I did the "Sleeve-Ads" I discovered that some of the drive-thrus were selling 300 cups of coffee A DAY....9,000 Cups a Month! No wonder you see these coffee stands popped up all over.
