![]() I want to find out what items on E-bay are receiving the most bids. (In other words, what's selling the most).
I remember that Bill Myers had once pointed this out in one of his newsletters... but I can't find it now. Thanks, Adam. |

![]() titled "Can You Ebay?" I did not find anything in it in regards to items bid on most.
It does say, however, that 'how to' books, reports, informational products, and software are the worst sellers. It also goes on to say that items that are unique and priced high are the best sellers. There might be a newsletter out there of Bill's that I don't have. If I find it I will let you know. Dennis |

![]() Although this does not give the items most bid on, it does catagorize all items quite nicely and how many items in each catagory are up for bid.
Besides the link below there is also a discussion and help board at http://pages.ebay.com/community/chat/index.html. Might be able to find your answer there. Best I can do for now. Good luck. Dennis The list |

![]() I also remember reading Bill Myers' post about this (from waaaay back)....
The main idea is to look at the "hot" auctions (the auctions with lots of bids) as a measure of what kind of products are in demand on these auction web sites.... It *looks* like ebay may have removed their "hot auctions" listing, but Amazon auctions gives an alternative.... With Amazon, go to www.amazon.com then click on "Auctions".... Then you can use their "Advanced Search" function to search for a keyword, and sort by "Hot Items" (which will put items with the most bids at the top).... Search by "title & description" to get the most results. To get a general listing of items, use a very broad search term. Any suggestions of good terms to use? Another approach is to go to a particular category, then sort listings by "Hot Items," which will show the items with the most bids at the top.... Any other suggestions? There may be other auction sites with other helpful functions too.... Amazon auctions isn't as widely used as ebay I think, but it can still give you some idea of what kind of items are popular. :) - Dien |

I queried Ebay about the Hot List...here is their answer. :( "We did offer a 'Hot Stuff' page on the category page and the site map, but it wasn't used very often. Since we are constantly evaluating everything on eBay, we removed the 'Hot Stuff' section to help organize the site map, and make room for new features. Items can still get a 'Hot' rating when there are more then 30 bids, and for more information about 'Hot', go to: http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/g-hot-items.html ______________ So apparently there is no way to search for Hot items only...
