![]() I have no connection with them, just thought it was a cool idea.
www.animatronicsign.com Instead of a mannequin, I thought a cardboard movie star like Sheldon Cooper would be even cooler. You can get them here for about $30 bucks. http://www.cardboardcutouts.com Jason Hatchett |

Phil! Look at you, you are just an old softy deep down! I have to admit, I don't get the whole Bieber thing (I guess as a 53-year-old male that is to be expected ...), but this youtube video, which popped up next to the one you posted above ... this did get to me. the kid was making an appearance somewhere, with tons of people. some young fan was crying ... i guess she didn't get to see him or something ... watch the video, and listen to the people ... very entertaining (it's short, too!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAttq...feature=fvwrel |

![]() Now, returning the thread back to Jason's original message ...
I love these things. I found a few companies doing this on the left coast of the U.S. Wondering what the "sign police" in the over-regulated northeast would think about this? |

![]() That is a good question Robert. I live in the Northeast. We actually have real people dressed up as the Statue of Liberty during tax season for a company that has a related name. These real people stand on the corner sidewalk at an intersection walking/jumping and waving to the traffic to let people know about the tax prep service. This goes on from late January until April 15. Most of the people hired appear to be high school kids making a few bucks on the side.
This is an interesting idea, with a cutout mannequin of just about anybody you can think of holding a moving sign to advertise a local business. Not sure whether the permit police around here would tolerate that or not. I don't see why not, if it taken away during the over night hours. I think it's a cool concept that definitely draws attention. I would rather rent them out then sell them. Almost like having dummy employees, except these dummies would be treated very well...AND appreciated. |

Thanks for posting that - I think it's a terrific idea! I have no doubt it would work to get attention, and bring in customers... I like the "cardboard movie star" twist to it, too! ![]() I'm sure you could sell or rent these, too, as others have mentioned, or incorporate them into part of a marketing consulting business... Best wishes, Dien |
