In the ever true spirit of the SowPub forum let's do it. This is what we have always been about here.

Watcha got on ... your mind?

Actually ... I will start another thread for this because it's not fair to hijack Don's thread here. Don started a great thread and hopefully we will here even more about this here.

Hey Steve.....good hearing you again in The Land of OZ.

Yup....one of my kids was a teacher (in Da BIG "Democrat-ICK" conclave of CHGO and.... the Dems running da machine came upon a problem, their solution was "Throw Money at it!"

Nothing bout fixing the problem or getting rid of IN-competent employees.

And.....I just noticed someone had placed a Photo on one of their posts. Since you're still in Photography, I'd like to post a photo of a project I did with some Pet Groomers BUT....I forgot how to put photos on posts.

If someone can re-inform me...thanks,

Don Alm

I was thinking this just might be a great idea to help these ladies coming out of rehab to start earning some good money and get back on their feet so I just did a search online for what Appointment Reminder Services are actually charging these days. Looks like they are offering far more and for a whole lot less than what they were when Don started helping the lady from his church. Times and prices ... they do change, as well as the technology.

One place charges $19.99 (pay as you go) and that gets 100 reminders. No contracts, no setup fees, no recurring billing. You choose how many reminders you want to pre-purchase. You can configure your account to recharge automatically when it runs low. Get started with 30 free reminders.
200 reminders at $29.99/mo and 500 reminders at $74.99/mo. There are larger numbered reminders at even less than that from the same company at http://www.apptoto.com/plans

Another service offer's phone, email and text reminders ($29/mth for 100 reminers and it gets less from there). This is at: https://www.appointmentreminder.org/pricing

Don ... some of the things we have done in the good ole days have changed as far as method and pricing so as always was the case ... we either adjust with the flow or find another way to benefit people while earning a profit. I still like what your lady was able to do but I imagine she has had to make some changes along the way too. Maybe she was wise enough to see the writing on the wall and joined the technology shift as well and was able to keep her business going. I hope so.

Hi Don,

Along with the methods Randy and Steve mentioned, you can also upload one or more images as attachments.

In the "Additional Options" section below the window where you type in your message, click on the "Manage Attachments" button...

There's a limit of a 500 kb file size per image, though. (Let me know if that's not enough, I can increase the limit...)

Best wishes,

Dien

Ya......there's always going to be techy improvements although....for example....I can buy beautiful "PLR Videos" that cover MANY Niches, from Dave Cisneros or Nick Mancuso for about $7ea and....some of the people selling WSOs on how to make money with them suggest selling them for $97

My thinking is....just because I can now get "stuff" for a fraction of what they used to cost.....does NOT mean....I should charge a fraction of what I used to.

It's MY TALENT in finding the "lower cost" stuff....so, with Videos or "Patient Reminder" programs does NOT mean I should now lower my fees.

IF my clients can find cheaper stuff....more power to 'em. I can ALWAYS find clients who will pay $497 and MORE for my videos....even though I get them for $7.

Don Alm.....STILL wanting to get paid for MY "Expertise"

Also...one thing I've noticed over all the years I've been tossing my stuff up on Forums (My MAIN motive has been....to HELP people!....NOT to Sell my stuff or make ME look good for MY Ego)

I feel I was "Forced" to become an "Entroopeneer"...when I discovered the guy I was replacing in the HUGE Corp where I was hired for my first "J.O.B." was just about to get his FULL Retirement Benefits when....he was fired and replaced...by little ol' ME!

So....when I found that out at an office luncheon...2 weeks into my "Lifetime Career"....I went home to my young wife and exclaimed; "Let's see now, I'm going to devote my life to this giant corp and....just when I am about to retire...they "Pull the Plug" and FIRE ME!

I don't think so. So...I spent the next few mos hunting for a business I could start where...I....me, myself and I....could WRITE MY OWN CHECKS and...NOT BE DEPENDENT ON ANYONE ELSE for my Livelihood!

So....this "mental change" caused me to "Be On The Lookout for good Money-Making Projects"....of which I have found HUNDREDS of ways an individual could put together WITHOUT much investment and make MORE THAN what an individual could earn....working for someone else.

Therefore....over the years I have experienced many of my "HOT Flashes"!

And....back to the topic of this thread....when I would go out and try my "Hot Flash" and get it to WORK and begin bringing in Serious BUX.... then present it on one of these Forums.....it was GUARANTEED....there would be Posts saying, "Hey Man! What's to keep da Car Dealer from doin' dis...hisself?"...or "What's to stop dis guy or dat guy from doin' dis hisself?

Answer; Nuttin! However, Dis never happens! WHY? Cause dese biz owners have more important tings ta do...like "running dere biz"!

Now...relating to the exact topic of this thread.....someone mentioned, "Yup! There's NOW programs that offer 500 "Appointment Reminders" fer $19.95!"

In fact....I'll even give you one, "Jim Martin has an appointment reminder program he calls, Super Simple Reminder System dot com"!

However....if you folks reading this think YOU can make money selling a program that costs you $19.95...offering 500 Appt Reminders fer $97! More power to ya BUT...dis is NOT how "us" entroopeneers" have chosen to "make our way"!

Heck....some of the people I tutored into this TERRIFIC way of Makin' Money from Home" I've sent them this "Digital" Appointment Reminder thingee.

Some have used it and some have not. So.....again, thanks for reading about MY thoughts on some of these Money-Making projects.

Don Alm.....

Hi Don - great idea...but the math doesn't add up. Maybe it's just me. You state $25 a day making appointment reminder calls. Then in your example later in the posting you say $30 per call. Is it $25 per day doing this or $30 per call?
Thanks for the clarification.
Robert
